The advice is supposed to be that whatever role you act in, you have to remember that, from your characters mind, you are the main character, and a not a side character. And should therefore give any role you play your all.

But I think this is a useful rule for writing as well. Every character needs to be fully fleshed out, they need to have wants and desires and fears of their own. They have their own stories that don’t revolve around the deeds of the main characters of your book. This is what gives them life, makes them more than set pieces.

You were never one for navigation, although being a space player in ‘the game’ did give you a large almost unnatural sense of direction. “You Have Yet To Witness The Delusions And Strain That Come Together When Bright Lavender, Neon Green, Royal Blue, And A Touch Of The Fire Red Are Placed In Splatters Amongst Highlighter Yellow” even saying it made you want to squint with the colours burning your memory.

In regards to a maroon blooded version iteration you had your thoughts filled on what she was possibly like. Even using some aspects of Aradia, that didn’t work out long for you. “I Tend To See A Lot Of Serkets Whether It Be Good Or Bad But Even I Can Not Imagine What This One Might Be Like” she adds to Reyes’s comment.

Drawing parallels between yourself and any of your alternates, most of which were still rather briefly met, was difficult. They seemed to be such - well, terrible people. Not that you were one to judge, the mafia was no better on anyone’s moral compass. You supposed there were different kinds of “terrible”, then.

Well now she was just embarrassed, not wanting to admit that the last time she was behind the wheel of a vehicle she’d gotten somewhat reckless and almost made her wife vomit. That, and she didn’t exactly have a license.

You were really not one to judge anything embarrassing regarding vehicles that Jade could have said, especially considering your most recent endeavours in attempting to ride a motorbike. Your shoulder still ached a little, even if it had been a few months since the whole incident.

Thankfully, Jade had admitted that she wasn’t too bad on the bike! You’d been wanting to try it out again, having learnt your lesson and all. Probably.
