Ah, Narcissa -- a constant ally even in the toughest of times. Very well, we'll endeavour to haul Hogwarts out of this slump, the heroes that we are. So, then -- what shall we give them to talk about, hm?

Well I have runes with the Ravencalws, so in all honesty I don’t think that it’s really that unnecessary of an insecurity. But i do work hard so we’ll see when it comes time for OWLs

"We were meant to be safe here. No one was meant to die. I was sure no one would die. I was sure that they were all just rumors." It was embarrassing, for her to crack in public like she did in the moment, however she wanted nothing more than to scream. She hadn’t many friends and being so raw and open gave her a sense that she would lose the few friends she did. "No"  Her answer was almost squeezed out. 

Emma revolved around ensuring her own safety, perhaps that was why this failed to phase her -- while some looked at the dead body and saw themselves, Emma's brain struggled to register that they were the same. They weren't. "We are." She corrected, assure Emmeline. They were of pureblood, something her friend should easily forget. 

"I was wrong Emma." Were the only words that she could manage amid all the fright. And there was not a false word in that statement. So many times she had called those whom feared the dark lord fools, however she had been the fool. 

Oh well, uh t-thanks. I promised my lips are sealed. And uh thanks for the vote of confidence. I enjoy runes, but I feel like most of the other students are light years ahead of me for some reason.

At the sight of the body, Emmeline shuddered. However, she did not let herself be pushed back by the crowd, instead she pushed herself forward to get a better look. 

Emma perhaps should have been more affected than she was by the body, but the shock wore off quickly. After all, she was adaptable. Emmeline proved a different story but who could blame her? The girls had been dancing only a moment ago.

"Oh never, especially because your name is pretty short."

Well if you’re looking at it like that, I think you’d probably benefit more from Bella sitting next to you. She is Queen B after all. And I’m reading some literature on magical theory and symbols. Thought it would help in my Runes class. 

To be perfectly honest -- and don't tell her I said this -- you're much cuter than Bella. Queen B, huh? I like it. I'm positive it will, if your Professor is even half as impressed as I am.

When she pulled away he smiled gently at her. Gently. It was a rare smile. One he only used if he was absolutely genuinely happy and he was for once. For once he actually felt like how a sixteen year old boy should feel. Forgetting about all his cares and deciding not to think about them until it was absolutely necessary. It wasn’t very often where he could actually act like a person his age.

He looked best in those moments, when he genuinely smiled. Emma was a craftsman skilled in the creation of smiles; she could detect the beautiful rarity that was true smile when she saw one. It transformed his entire face, made him almost unrecognizable as the boy who stalked the halls and fit in amongst dark allies. It was a smile that would shine out, incongruent in such a place, in such a face. Emma thought that made him look all the more attractive – his shadows, his shine. Being his friend above all else, she knew all kinds of Amycus Carrow, she thought she knew every facet to him that there was. Yet continuously, Emma was experiencing the pleasant surprise of being surprised by him.

You could be right, but she might cry even harder if it’s even possible.

Very true. Alright then, a few Galleons might buy her silence.

You never think you'll see the day when Hufflepuffs are useful and then it arrives.
