Welcome to Navadurga series |Part-2|
Maa Shailaputri is the first and one of the most revered forms of Goddess Durga worshipped during Navratri. Known as the “Daughter of the Mountains,” she symbolizes purity, strength, and the beginning of spiritual awakening. According to Hindu mythology, she was born as Parvati, the daughter of King Himavan, after her previous birth as Goddess Sati. Maa Shailaputri rides the sacred bull Nandi, carries a trident and a lotus flower, and represents courage, devotion, and inner stability. Worshipping her on the first day of Navratri is believed to bring peace, confidence, and spiritual growth. She is associated with the Muladhara Chakra, which signifies a strong foundation in life and spirituality. Her story teaches resilience, reminding devotees that true strength comes from faith and determination. Through her calm yet powerful presence, Maa Shailaputri inspires people to stay grounded, overcome hardships, and walk the path of righteousness with unwavering devotion.
