For decades my culture has been incorrectly popularised and turned into an 'aesthetic' and the worst part is it's not even proper Greek culture.

Despite what you think with us being European, when Greeks immigrated to America and Australia, my parents and grandparents generation were met with pedjudice for our culture for years. But then it's a further slap in the face when western civilisation takes parts of our culture and make it their own. (think Sorority and Frat houses using Greek letters) And as a girl who grew up in the 2010s, before I went to a predominantly Greek school, I'd have friends act disgusted at traditional food like spanakopita but then love souvlaki.
