Opera plot: Local Noble realizes that his affections for Pretty Village Girl have a rival in the form of Honest Laborer. Having read enough romances to know that a girl asked to choose between a rich man and a poor man will always pick the poor man, whereas in a love triangle between two rich men it's anyone's game, he decides that his chief object must be to elevate his rival's wealth and status as quickly as possible. What the Compte de Genre-Savie over here forgot to account for, however, was the overwhelming power of the Pygmalion Effect, and now he has to deal with watching two people he's in love with develop ever-stronger feelings for each other. Eventually all of this resolves via...I don't know.

#first of all: ''comte de genre-savie'' is PERFECT. just great. absolutely no notes.#I would love an opera with this exact plot. bonus points if the comte is genuinely genre savvy#he keeps bringing up opera tropes only for the other characters to look at him like he's insane.#the score is diagetic to him; when he points out reoccurring themes or transitions to minor keys#the other characters ask him what the hell he's talking about. the whole chorus gets together to sing about how#comte de genre-savie is going mad. the comte tries to sneak away and keeps getting pulled back in.#I wonder if you could even push it further - have it so that only the comte can speak or 'hear' spoken words;#all other characters communicate in recitativo secco or formally composed songs#then you can have scenes where the comte is speaking but the other character in the scene can't hear him.#this can be played for laughs (the comte tries to order something from a shopkeeper; the shopkeeper walks away as he's talking)#and for dramatic effect (the Honest Laborer is singing a heartfelt duet with the Pretty Village Girl#and neither of them can hear the comte saying 'I love you' in between their lines)#........I am into this actually. I had to convince myself that this wasn't just cyrano de bergerac but no. it isn't. I'm into it.#upon the stage (via @notbecauseofvictories)

I don’t have any ideas for it right now but I think a hilarious crossover would be WHA and One piece. Not just because I like the two, but also because the idea of the straw hats just being a bunch of roque wizards that don’t follow the “don’t let them see you making the circles” rules and are just constantly on the run from any and all government officials. Plus as an unplanned bonus I’m realizing it would make choppers story a lot more impactful. I mean he’d probably be the result of a forbidden spell plus he’d be researching like the one major thing that is consistently and continuously banned and frowned upon by whatever amalgamation of marines and the knights moralis exist .

Also Luffy would totally just be a dude who can punch faster than people can draw.

Okay making an expansion on this since witch hat anime is coming out now and I just watched the final episode of opla.

Luffy- same backstory as normal Luffy but with no devil fruit. Maybe some sort of tattoo spell that connects him to nika

Zoro- just a swordsman like in the show. was taught the secret of magic when Luffy saved him.

Sanji-no magic though some tampering by germa is still there. Only activates after the raid suit because it completes the hidden circles which hadn’t been fully connected.

Nami- raised as a witch by bellemere, weather based spell focus. Brim hat is like qiffreys with the brim folding up so she can hide as a normal witch, and spells on the inside to help her escape or cast spells secretly.

Chopper- homonculus type creature made accidentally by experiments from Dr hiriluk. He’s killed for his medical experiments and chopper is hidden away by kureha like normal.

Usopp- raised non magic, discovered magic on accident by taking apart a magic device that kaya gave him. Went with the straw hats to avoid being arrested by the marines/royal guard for learning magic. Mainly makes gadgets and things that often function strangely due to having no formal training.

Robin- pretty similar to the original Robin. Just with the era when the memory spell was made and the rules for magic use were written.

Brook- revived knight moralis or something idk i have no idea how to incorporate him into this without absolutely destroying the entire plot of wha so until I figure it out he’s just going to be isekaed from the normal OP universe.

Franky- basically the same just uses either fire spells or ink instead of cola.

Vivi-unaware of magic until joining baroque works. Doesn’t use it as a princess unless it’s completely hidden to prevent the world government from capturing her

If Bloody Mary is becoming popular I think spider-noir x mouse pi should too.

Both ships work because they’re focused on the similarities in the two media.

Well noir and PI both center around war veterans becoming detectives drawn into larger conspiracies over connections made during their time in service. Both are partially inspired by classic movie actors like Humphrey bogart.

Plus live action noir needs his own toon buddy since spiderverse noir gets spider pig.
