It was all a blur.. like glass fragments that were left unclear by rough handling and yet, they were sharp at the edges, cutting each time an attempt at looking properly at them was made. It hurt, like getting a dull blade slowly pushed into an open wound. It made Ajax not want to remember, it made it so much easier to accept, what little was left in his mind. Crystal clear depths - colder in color than they had ever been before - gazed at the woman before him as they slowly blinked, taking in the familiar sight. Taking in the details; from the long sun-kissed eyelashes, to the softness of the nearby mouth, all the way to the eyes as captivating as the sun itself. A treasure, that was what Ajax's mind supplied him with as he gazed at her. It was like being graced by the sun. A blessing.. He felt warm.. despite the slight coldness that caressed his skin as he stood there, watching her silently, not sure, how he had ended up here, only that there was no place he would rather be, than right here; by her side.
It felt like.. something was missing, that a part of him was left empty and yet, the warmth overshadowed it and made it feel insignificant to, what was before him. He felt light in her presence as she was taken in like the most beautiful piece of art. Without realizing, tears wandered down his pale, freckled cheeks before falling like shooting stars. Confused, a hand lifted, to touch his own cheek before he moved it into view, to gaze at now wet fingers. It felt odd.. for there was no sadness to be found and yet, it felt like there should be.
Walking closer, Ajax reached out, only to pull Lumine close, so he could dip his nose into the crook of her neck, where he smiled softly, despite soaking the nearby skin, with lingering tears, even though they no longer fell. Long, ginger eyelashes caressed the cold, graced surface and yet, Ajax showed no sign of being bothered by the feel of it against his body. All the male felt, was happiness at the closeness of the only face that he could properly remember.
Unknown to the male, death had claimed him, dragged him past the gates of the underworld and yet, he had been dragged back, with a great sacrifice, that Ajax had no idea about as he stood there, happy in the presence of his only light; of his savior.
