            ❛ …k-kgh— ❜  the adversary he had faced was no common foe.  He fully expected his abilities in combat had lessened during his slumber but with the solid defeat he had just went through, he questioned just how much they had.  He was left there, wounded and with fading consciousness, his shield resting a ways away where it had been flung.  He heard someone making an approach, the adrenaline of his fight or flight response bringing some clarity back to him, if only just barely.  In his condition he was an easy target, he knew he couldn’t face another.  ❛ S-…stay back—! ❜  though the words were barked it did very little to change the sorry condition he was in.
