HS BASS MUSIC New Record Label To Shape The UK Music Industry HS Bass Music, a new-comer in the UK digital music industry and a long-awaited offspring of Hyde Studios, the latter being known for its ties with the glamour and modeling industries, got into existence in December 2013 by former Drum’n’Bass DJ Jekz., based in Margate, Kent. The idea behind this exciting project was to incorporate his 10-year experience as a DJ into producing cutting-edge electronic music. The founder’s entrepreneurial enthusiasm is rooted in the simple yet powerful intention of expressing his versatile creativity. “I’ve always wanted a record label” he confesses. He adds that the multi-faceted background of the members of the label – Vincent Cadenhead, Keith Plummer, Adrian Lowe, Jason Leite – constitutes a major source of inspiration and pervades the music, which is “edgy, futuristic, technical, diverse”. As Adrian, Mastering Engineer, puts it “what we do is unique as we cover several areas of music from film production to mastering to equipment modification to an array of varied styles of music” which implies that they have a few tricks up their sleeve. According to Keith, Joint Owner, the style is “ground-breaking, it has different curves, intricately slotting into all musical genres“. This all-round adaptability will gain further ground as the team unleashes its full potential. As it stands, the label HS Bass Music features a few artists and plans on further collaborations. Diversification is intrinsic to the core values of the label, a significant example of which was, amongst others, HS Bass Music’s participation in the Sundance Film Festival that took place on 25 – 27 April this year in London. This innovative approach to music is to be worked upon in order to push the boundaries of pure music production, along with its associated aspects, and integrate it into more sophisticated projects.
