Excerpts from one of 2014âs best art collections, The Art of John Harris: Beyond the Horizon.
âAm I a twisted cherub, face half-skeleton, half-laced ribbon? I glisten at times, but. I am more than my skin suggests, more than a body of sin. I have scriptures in my lips.â

As I Was Moving Ahead Occasionally I Saw Brief Glimpses of Beauty (Jonas Mekas, 2000)
Scar is comparable to Siegfriedâs invisible point of mortality, a non-scar, but a trace reserved for the passage of death, a door requirig a password, scar adds something: a visible or invisible fibrous tissue that really or allegorically replaces a loss of substance which is therefore not lost but added to, augmentation of memory by a small mnesic growth. Unlike scar, stigmata takes away, removes substance, carves out a place for itself.
Stigmata are traces of a sting.
HÊlène Cixous, Stigmata: Escaping Texts (tr. Eric Prenowitz)
hatred of terfs isn't a love for trans women, hatred of nazis isn't a love for jewish people, hatred of the police isn't a love for black people. you should always be emphasising your support and love for the oppressed before you talk about your hatred of the oppressor.
salemwitchtr*als is a terf. stop reblogging her.
salemwitchtr*als recommended an article (âour holy bookâ) from the transmisogynistic & otherwise transphobic website gender identity watch; said article stirs transmisogynistic paranoia by casting trans women as invaders of womenâs spaces. it appears she later removed said link from her recommendations post after this was pointed out, but did so w/o openly acknowledging its rhetoric⌠or saying anything to combat transmisogyny.

as further confirmation of transmisogynistic politics: here, salemwitchtri*ls appears in the notes of vl*dtheunfollower, whoâs been an open terf for a long time now⌠this is on vl*dâs post about being a terf on this website. (clicking âshow more notesâ once will show the screenname salemwitchtr*als.)

Sometimes your blog calls out people who are actively disrespecting and hurting other people. And then sometimes, like in this case, you just kinda terrorize people. This person is really lovely and sweet, and she shares so much of herself and her resources publicly. Instead of terrorizing her, you could just silently disagree with some things you donât like about her resources. She hasnât hurt anyone or disrespected anyone⌠You guys are just really shitty and part of a community on tumblr that terrorizes and shuns people based on kinda nothing. Itâs really disappointing and it takes attention away from actual transphobic and hurtful people /:

what am i reading. in case you somehow missed it, salemwitchtrials linked to hate speech that framed trans womanhood as inherently harmful to cis women.
had this been unintended on her part, she could have directly addressed it with an apology, explained she had not read the full contents of the page in question, and disowned these views. she did not do any of these things.
if it did not matter to her to apologize for linking to transmisogynistic rhetoric, what does this suggest about how she views & would relate to trans women?
this is before taking into account the fact that she liked the âop is a terfâ post pictured here. so, while she declined to address having linked to hate speech directed at trans women, she was entirely comfortable liking a terfâs post making light of concerns about transmisogyny (hmmâŚ. one wonders what conclusions might be drawn from that).
what level of transmisogyny do you think someone needs to reach in order for it to be âactual transphobiaâ????
you say she âhasnât hurt anyone or disrespected anyone.â
actually!!!! recommending transmisogynistic rhetoric, + otherwise signaling oneâs approval of content that normalizes transmisogyny, hurts and disrespects trans women!!!!
& we who donât experience transmisogyny hurt and disrespect trans women when we treat these things as merely something to âsilently disagreeâ about.

â TONY BARNSTONE.
[ID text: NIGHTMARE KISS
The middle of a kiss, and though he opened up wide and wider, her own small jawbones gave a little crack and stuck, and look what happened: as if sheâd fallen in an open grave, he swallowed her at last, and then she wandered in a dark saturated country where the red land throbbed with capillaries under electric stars. Â A kiss had brought her there, a simple kiss that rainied and filled her head with blood, a nightmare kiss, a wrong man kiss; why had she kissed a man with such a mouth, with such thick teeth and jaws, such a tongue, instead of kissing someone who would let her out, kissing someone nicer, who ate less. end ID]
