During World War III, humanity nearly annihilated itself along with the planet. When the war ended, most modern technology was lost, but remnants remained, pushing civilization back to an era before abundance and comfort.

In humanity's time of weakness, an ancient yet newly ascendant enemy emerged. Enraged by how close humans had come to destroying the Earth, vampires seized control of the planet and what was left of the human race. Now, they govern humanity like livestock, overseeing massive Blood Farms where humans live and work while being forced to make weekly blood donations to sustain their vampire overlords.

The Blood Farms are managed by Vampire Familiars—humans who have sworn allegiance to the vampire race. These loyal followers see vampires as Earth's true saviors, the only force preventing humanity from once again bringing about its own ruin.
