What's interesting is that Amy is actually the one who ends up reflecting on her own past while looking at the Villain.

Even though she's constantly on the receiving end of his affection, she feels guilty because she knows she can't return those feelings. She often finds herself wondering, "Did the old Sonic feel this same way about my love?"

A friend of mine actually wrote a short piece inspired by this idea, and one passage goes like this:

"I was grateful for the love he showed me. But I couldn't return those feelings, and that was what made it so difficult. Maybe… this was how Sonic felt about my love, too."

And of course, just like you said, there are moments when Sonic thinks, "So this is how Amy must have felt."

One of my favorite headcanons is that, in the past, Amy used to give Sonic flowers, each carrying a different message depending on the day. She's such a sweet and thoughtful person, so I like to imagine she'd do something like that.

Now it's Sonic (the Villain) who's carefully choosing flowers by paying attention to the language of flowers before giving them to Amy. Every time he does, he has one of those little moments of realization, thinking, "So this is how Amy felt while picking out flowers for me."

And no, Sonic never really worries that Amy might move on from him. Those drawings where he's clinging to her crying, "Amyyy😭😭😭" are just little comedy sketches.😂 He doesn't spend his time worrying that she'll move on from him. He's simply willing to wait until the day she accepts him.

Some of what I said here might overlap with what's already on my Wattpad. Honestly, I can't remember how much I've revealed there anymore.😅 I just got so excited talking about it that I ended up rambling again.
