The person you’re meant to be with will never have to be chased, begged or given an ultimatum.

Some people turn sad awfully young. No special reason, it seems, but they seem almost to be born that way. They bruise easier, tire faster, cry quicker, remember longer and, as I say, get sadder younger than anyone else in the world. I know, for I’m one of them.

You owe yourself an apology. For cutting and pinching yourself just because you let those people define your worth. For getting drunk and wasted the other night just to get numb even just for a while. For starving yourself and caring only about that fucking numbers you see on the scale just so you can be qualified to society’s fucked up standards of beauty. For hating yourself and wishing to be someone else. And mostly, you owe yourself an apology. For the times you didn’t even hesitate to destruct it just so you can make others whole. You gave pieces of you which has only been taken for granted, thrown, and stepped on. You made yourself believe that love is supposed to be that way when it’s not. You drained and left nothing for yourself.

How do you go back to being strangers with someone who has seen your soul?

I think about you all the time, and have no one to talk to as only we can talk.

He forgot me, and I couldn’t forget.

I hope we see each other again in a couple of years. When we’ve both had time to grow. I hope, by then, we’ll have learned that forgiveness is the best antidote to regret. And I hope we’ll have learned to forgive ourselves in that process.
