A Huntress... Something Raven never imagined herself to be. Even now, months after graduating and earning her license, she found herself staring down at the screen of her scroll. Eyes locked on the image of her staring back. The Tribe didn't want this... This wasn't in the plan... But a lot could change in four years.

One thing's for sure...they couldn't go back home now.

" They'll kill us if we run into them again, " said the young woman. She could sense the presence behind her, and she already knew exactly who it was. Her brother. The one person on their team who could fully understand what sort of predicament they were now in. Raven wasn't the sort to talk about her feelings, and she wasn't doing that now. She just needed to know if she was right in this assumption.

He greeted his twin with a neutral expression, lightly chewing on his bottom lip in thought as he glanced down at his own scroll. All those years spent learning how to fight Huntsmen only to become one in the end. There was no turning back, not for them anyway.

He sighed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Well, they got what they wanted, didn't they? They sent us here to learn how to fight Huntsmen, so now we fight like Huntsmen. I say let them try to kill us."

He shifted his gaze, thinking back on all the memories made at Beacon, of Tai and Summer, the early morning classes and late night shenanigans.

"I doubt he would agree."

Whatever happened (because they didn't know, not really. Only Qrow himself and Tyrian Callows did), Winter was certain it wasn't as simple as Qrow murdering Clover. He might not even be the one who killed him.

Qrow glances down as he opens his hand, a bruise blooming in his palm from squeezing the badge so hard. The guilt surges through him, a lump rising in his throat threatening to choke him.

She reaches a hand out to place on his shoulder, but pulls it back before touching him. Probably one of the last people he would want comfort from.

A shaky breath escapes him, burying his face in his hands. Normally, he wouldn't want Winter to see him like this, but he didn't really care in this moment.

His Core stops aching for the first time in years. Not a full end--there were still people dear to him missing after all-- but an ache he'd grown used to with each passing year. An ache he'd been glad for, it meant Father was alive somewhere, even if Ren had no clue where.

The answer was here. In Vacuo with the rest of them.

Ren's claws come up, curling into his father's clothes, gingerly at first and then tightly, not caring if the sharp tips dug in. Brothers knew how often he'd nicked his father as a child before they started trimming his claws; this was nothing. His tail thumps slowly in a pattern that most of his team agreed was happy sounding, before the thin end curls around his father's ankle.

That night often replays in his mind over and over, often haunting his dreams and he wakes up crying for his wife and son. Yet, there is always this lingering feeling that his son is out there and alive. He never stopped hoping, never stopped praying...

And now, his faith is finally rewarded. He feels Ren's claws through the fabric of his clothes, but he doesn't care - if anything, it is reassurance that he is awake and his son is truly standing before him hale and whole.
