Brady wasn’t sure if the voice behind him was speaking to him in particular. When he finally glanced over his shoulder to see, putting the voice to the face, the realization that it was Hunter standing there confirmed he likely hadn’t been meaning to talk to Brady. Unless his good ol’ neighbor had suddenly had a change of heart and just wanted to have a little chit chat at work. Though something told Brady that might not be the case. “You know you can just…get pizza, right? Whenever you want?” he asked with a raise of his eyebrows, gesturing to the general area around them – a workplace, full of adults. “You don’t have to wait for someone to provide it for you.” He shrugged, tucking his water bottle into his elbow and crossing his arms. “But by all means, man. Give ‘em a piece of your mind. Sure they’ll wanna hear you out.”
Out of all the people in the office to talk to, he truly hadn’t meant to start up a conversation with Brady. Honestly, It was hard to remember how their little feud started. Was It over a petty fight? A friend? He would’ve remembered something dramatic, and yet, all he could recall was not really liking the guy. But the two brunettes had a big overlap. Their work place, their friends, their housing. It seemed like the world kept pushing them together while Hunter violently pushed the guy away. “It’s about the principal of the thing, Brady.” He muses with a roll of his eyes. Unable to really help himself from becoming even more annoyed than he was before. “And this may surprise you, but plenty of people want to hear me out.” Just not about anything that matters. Flirting, jokes, meaningless conversation? Sure. But his job? His livelihood? Nope, that always got a big no. Maybe Brady just got on his nerves. Or maybe Hunter didn’t like having someone call him out on his bullshit. A talent that Brady seemed to have down quite well. Or maybe, Hunter just disliked anyone who didn’t look at him with big stars in their eyes.
max was super hungry today in particular. it wasn’t exactly a strange occurrence, he was hungry about at least 75% of the time. as were a lot of people, which is probably why food services was as stocked as it was. but the good stuff tended to be taken right before lunch, so max liked to sneakily pop down from the entertainment department and get first dibs. or tried to, at least. the first thing he noticed once he was next to the selection was hunter; the second was how cleared out it was already. dammit. he sighed, making his presence next to his friend known as he tapped him gently on the shoulder with one hand - a silent greeting. “i know, man. i miss it too, but it can’t be all bad.” he said, lamely. “look at all these…tuna sandwiches. and pre-packaged salads. you like vegetables, right?” he reached over to the cold case and picked one up, raising an eyebrow before turning it over in his hand, noticing a couple of the leaves looking a little too wilty, but hey, at least it was healthy. positives to everything, he supposed. they just weren’t his positives at the moment. growing up, he’d always been a picky eater, so nothing was cutting it for him right now personally. max sat the lackluster salad down and turned his attention to the other man instead. “okay. i clearly don’t know what i’m talking about because i’m starving. i dunno about you, but i can’t go on like this.” he lowered his voice quietly so no one else could hear his suggestion, and he only briefly considered the consequences. “let’s break out early and get our own pizza.” besides, it wasn’t that far off from lunch time, and they were both from different departments, so they could afford to be sneaky. it was practically the perfect crime. at least, that’s what his now food-focused mind told himself. “or are you busy today?”
There was plenty of things that Hunter Reid loved. As a photographer, he learned to find the beauty in almost anything. Sunsets, meadows, trees, flowers, people. He could find a muse in a matter of seconds, focusing on something so brilliantly beautiful while others overlooked It. But as much as he loved his art, he hated boredom. Whether It was sitting still with nothing to do or eating the same pre packaged salad. Something about It just seemed to set him off. His passion was literally built on making everyday things seem extraordinary. So when a tuna salad was just a tuna salad--- Well, he was rather grumpy. Pizza might have been predictable but It was never boring. A million different toppings, different ways to slice It, watching the gooey cheese as he pulled a freshly made slice. Even the company he kept was far from boring. Everyone around him was interesting in one way or another. And the moment they stopped being interesting... Well, Hunter didn’t stick around for that. Max had always been in the clear though. Far too fun to ever let go of.
“Have you ever seen me eat a pre packaged salad?” He questioned, nose scrunching in distaste. Usually, he’d chuckle but these options were just sad. The pair were much more likely to sneak out for sushi or sneak into the kitchen at one am when everyone was gone to make cookies. But tuna sandwiches? Those didn’t sound like Max or Hunter, that’s for damn sure. “Am I busy today?” Finally, he laughs. As though his friend has just asked the most ridiculous question in the world. Grabbing the blonde’s hand, he all but tugs the guy towards the elevator. “I’m getting garlic knots too.”
lunch time was a time wells always looked forward to . he always managed to find himself to be too busy throughout the morning which was very much preferred ( time flew by when he was busy ) . though even in between his video & sound editing , leading the team through recording for departments that need their content to be filmed & edited , meeting with editors to discuss the content produced & getting the green light the list went on & on when it came to the daily duties of 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑔𝑎𝑛 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑠 . by lunch time , he’s hungry & ready for a damn break .
a few minutes early than his scheduled lunch , wells finds himself at food services debating on what to eat . arms are crossed over his chest & he’s indecisive as hell . thoughts are interrupted when he hears a voice speak up near him & he chuckles when he finds hunter nearby . “ ah , yeah . friday’s are the best .. my vote was for wednesday . they’re always the worst , & what way to make it better than knowing you have pizza to look forward to on lunch ? ” he liked pizza . it was one of his favorite foods & wednesday was his least favorite day . “ what’re you feeling today though ? since pizza is not on the menu . ”
Dull work days are only made more interesting with the right company. Hunter was lucky enough to work with most of his friends. There was always someone in the office worth talking to, worth interrupting, worth sneaking out with. And if he was truly out of options, he could always check the video schedule and sign up to be in some taste test or reaction or story video. Anything was better than sitting at his desk. However, he always found himself feeling particularly lucky when Wells was around. Anyone would be happy with a tall drink of water smiling at them, though.
“Well, if It isn’t the hottest guy in the office.” He whistles, a charming grin on his lips. The pizza is completely forgotten as the other rambles about what to eat and what the worst day of the week is. While he’d usually humor the conversation, especially when he started It, his relationship with Wells is different. His only motive is to charm the other, flirt, smile, maybe throw in a wink. Anything to get some sort of reaction. After all, it’s a waste of both their good looks if he doesn’t say something. Right? “Every day is a good day as long as you’re here smiling at me.” He muses warmly, leaning against the table. “Probably order something or sneak out to grab something. Don’t tell anyone.” He hums out, a signature wink following. Nothing at food services looks half as good as Wells anyway.

he was on a hunt for ketchup packets — an experiment of sorts that he was working on, and they’d run out of ketchup in the test kitchen, and he didn’t feel like sending an intern on an errand when he could use a walk and a stretch of his legs — which was how he wound up at food services, scouring the condiments for every last ketchup packet he could find. he whipped his head up at the sound of someone’s voice, the area was usually pretty empty at this time of day ( too late for breakfast, too early for lunch ) and smiled guiltily as he held nearly twenty ketchup packets balled up in his fists behind his back. “if i’d known you had taken such a strong stance on pizza fridays, i would’ve started a petition for ya,” he replies as he steps away from the condiments. “are you craving? i can make you one!”
Out of all the people in this office, Messer was probably the last one he’d expect to see. The culinary team was wonderful, truly. Some of the best people at Vibez worked there. But seeing them at food services was like seeing Bigfoot in the wild. They’ve got everything they want over there so wandering over here seems rather pointless. Still, he couldn’t say he was upset to see the guy. They might’ve been roommates, but Hunter never seemed to get sick of him. Maybe It was his natural good looks or maybe It was just how good his food was. “Well, it’s never too late to start a petition. I think if you truly loved me you would get everyone to sign on for pizza tuesdays.” He jokes, a huff of laughter escaping him. “You’re going to make me a pizza, eh? How romantic.” He muses charmingly at the offer, a playful bat of his eyelashes following his words.
Like a doting and slightly overbearing mother, Aimee checks up with everyone in the office when time allowed it. It was the role she played in friendship circles, so it only made sense that this dynamic carried over into her leadership style as well. She didn’t anticipate anyone being at food services already, but offered a warm smile to Hunter regardless. “I’m sorry to hear that you’re disappointed in these changes, Hunter.” She shrugged and explained: “Long story short, our catering needs to be varied throughout the week to meet everyone’s dietary needs and preferences, and it just so happened that pizza was added to the Friday rotation. I’m sure we can pull some strings and arrange to send out a poll to see if anyone else would like to see changes with catering. What do you think about that?”
Aimee was a sweetheart, truly. She wasn’t that much older than him, but she certainly had a motherly energy when It came to his complaints. Most of the older staff would just roll their eyes or laugh at his antics, but she always seemed to listen. Even if It was as ridiculous as wanting pizza on Tuesdays. Honestly? He liked her. He just wasn’t great with anyone who was that considerate. People were much easier to work with when they did the bare minimum. “As much as I appreciated your commitment to my pizza--- It probably doesn’t matter that much.” He replies with a small shrug, the complaints ending right then and there. Had It been anyone else, he could’ve made an argument for his case. But for her, he’d prefer to just shrug It off and agree with whatever she said. “Plus, who am I to say someone’s dietary requirement isn’t as important as pizza right?” He jokes with a small huff, whipping his phone out of his pocket. He’ll just order a smoothie from up the block. “You want Smoothie King?”
The thing about Deli is that he’s always eating — and that literally means always. He either has a snack on hand or is on the way to get some more. With his to-do list finished for the time being and nothing on his calendar for the rest of the morning, Deli was left to his devices and ended up deciding to catch up with his friends to see what they were up to. Various chats later, he racked his brain to think of who else he had yet to talk to, when he ran into the man himself while looking for some grub. “I was just looking for you!” He beamed. “My spidey senses were tingling and said Hunter is sulking over something again. Since I placed this bet on myself and you’re too predictable, you owe me five dollars now.” Deli joked, nudging his friend playfully. “Seeee, this is why we’re married. The big brain energy you have is… muah, chef’s kiss. T B H pizza day should be every day. I just bother the culinary team and bribe them to feed me when the menu isn’t hitting, I highly rec.”
Working at Vibez used to be something that enhanced his mood. A college kid’s dream internship, especially working under Deli. The eight months in the photography program were some of the best months of his life. Feeling grateful and fulfilled didn’t come easy to the young artist, so the photography team owned his heart. But since getting an official job for the quiz team-- well, most days he wasn’t half as happy as that twenty one year old intern. Bitterness was hard to hold on to when Deli was around though. “Hello, Lover.” He muses jokingly, the grumpiness slowly dissipating as he glances at the other. A reluctant smile graces his lips, trying not to laugh over how predictable he’s become. “You know... As handsome as you are. I’m afraid I’m the smart one in this relationship. A bet only works if both parties agree beforehand and since I wasn’t alerted to this little wager---- It seems you’ll be leaving empty handed.” He replies fondly. Even more empty handed, seeing as there wasn’t any pizza today. Poor Deli, no money and no pizza. Tragic, really. An eyebrow raises, an amused huff of laughter leaving his lips as he’s teased. “Well, I’m glad someone here appreciates me. But I’m not a big boy team lead like you. I have nothing to bribe them with. Though maybe I could get Oli to give in. Charm that kid enough and he’s soft as a cupcake. No pun intended.”
to say PJ loved to eat would be an understatement. if she wasn’t sleep, bathing or forcing herself to exercise the woman was stuffing her face with food. she didn’t see the point in denying herself of the pleasure and goodness that various foods had to offer. “pizza is too good to be wasted on a day like tuesday.” the small blonde chuckled from beside the complaining man. not a day when by when hunter and PJ didn’t have disagree about something, even something as trivial as pizza. in all honesty pj didn’t care what day they had pizza on because she’d eat it regardless but the fact that it was bothering hunter was quite amusing to her. “but if it bothers you that much, maybe you should draft an email asking them to move it back to tuesday? they might get back to you in 3-5 years. that’s how long it took them to respond when i asked them to make it fridays.” she joked, despite the dead serious look on her face.
as serious as his thoughts were, the rambling about pizza wasn’t actually that important to him. more so, It was just a way to pass the time. silly opinions and limited food options for lunch had to be better than sitting at his desk for another hour. then again, as soon as pj rolled in, whatever joking tone he had seems to deflate. “i’m too good to be wasted on a day like tuesday.” he muses in reply, a smirk on his lips. it’s cocky, but he’s certain he can get away with It. pax might’ve been one of his least favorite people in the office, while still being one of his favorites. perhaps It was her ability to keep up with every debate they had, or perhaps It was just the fun of seeing who got annoyed first. either way, she could tease him all day, and he’d likely still stick around. “if they listen to my petition to move you to the new york office, maybe i’ll buy the office pizza instead. got to celebrate somehow, right?” he grins, snarky though there’s no real malice behind the words.
if sutton wasn’t near her desk during the day, it was known that she was in the cafeteria, either picking up coffee or talking someone’s ear off. she usually went in on off times because let’s just say… her coffee to creamer ratio wasn’t normal. she stood there by the machine, pumping out at least 15 pumps of creamer into her coffee. the brunette was focused on each pump which was why the voice behind her caused her to jump in her place. ‘ huh , what ?! ’, sutton basically screamed, setting her coffee down and turning to see who it was. ‘ oh, hey. ’, she greeted hunter, turning back to her coffee once she realized he already knows about her odd coffee behavior. ‘ i’m not particularly a fan of pizzas on tuesdays though. ’, sutton announcing, closing the cap to her coffee before fully turning to her loftmate. ‘ i still strongly urge them to have a hummus bar. i sent in five emails about it. imagine having twenty different hummuses… or is is hummi ? i’m not sure if i learned that… ’
the yell is enough to shock him out of his pizza focused thoughts. while the scream is surprising, he’s not at all shocked that It came from sutton. once the girl was focused on something, that seemed to be It. even if It was as trivial as pumping creamer into her coffee. maybe that’s why he always stopped by dunkin donuts before work instead of trying to make room in their kitchen. “oh, hello.” he hums, an amused smile gracing his lips despite his usual workplace bitterness. there’s a part of him that wants to question what she has against pizza tuesdays, but asking that would be a bit hypocritical-- seeing as he disliked pizza fridays. however, the idea of a hummus bar? that was something so specific that It could have only come from sutton. laughter laces with his words as he considers her idea. “hummus really isn’t that exciting, darling. i’m pretty sure most people either hate It or just like the original. i’ve never even heard of other hummus flavors. what the hell flavor would you mix with hummus?”

emma barely knew what was going on. she knew that her ex was in the room and she knew that she was feeling a little awkward, but she didn’t quite pay full attention until pizza was mentioned. “ pizza ?? do you have pizza ?? oh my gosh, i’ve missed pizza. especially the ones with the pineapples on top and i know people get mad about that, but i am strong in my opinions. i am steadfast and indignant !! whatever that means !! “
most of hunter’s exes were faces he barely remembered and names he couldn’t quite recall. emma had always been a different kind of ex, though. a name he’d never forget and a face he’d recognize instantly, even in a crowded room. no matter what lighting she stood beneath, she always looked warm. It was something he could never place. the eyes, the smile, the way her hair fell over her shoulders, there was something about her that gave you the feeling of home. It was a feeling he’d be chasing for years, but once he had It... well, hunter had always been better at photographing emotions, not feeling them himself. “no pizza. pizza was moved to friday because for some reason tuesday just isn’t good enough.” he muses with a shake of his head. suddenly, the smallest of smirks falls on his lips. an opportunity to tease far too easy to ignore. “though if you’re going to put that on your pizza maybe it’s for the best we’re stuck with burgers and fries again.”
The Vibez office is one of the greatest places to work. Only second to Google, the amenities keep employees both happy and entertained. That’s what the flier said when Hunter first applied here as an intern. And while It wasn’t lying, his excitement about bean bags and yoga rooms were quick to deflate over the years. His desk was picture perfect, practically untouched compared to his old intern desk. Hunter only had one passion, one thing he truly loved more than himself, and It was photography. Seeing all those college kids doing what he did best--- It almost always put him in a sour mood. Especially when he was stuck making quizzes like ‘screw jk rowling, what’s your real harry potter house?’. And that was only today’s nightmare. That’s why you could almost never find him with the rest of his team. Like right now. His lunch break wasn’t for another hour, and yet here he was at food services. “Whoever said pizza day should be moved to fridays instead of tuesdays is on my hit list.” He mused to the nearest employee. “What? Like you need anything else to look forward to on friday? It’s friday. You’ve already made It to the end.”

Hunter was born to Alice and Zachary Reid. He was the second child and the only son. The family originally lived in Seattle, Washington. Both of his sisters were around his age. One a year or so younger and one a year or so older. They grew up very close to one another, even if they did get on each other’s nerves. His life was pretty perfect for the first few years. He never wanted for anything. His mother owned a charming boutique and his father was a very successful doctor.
He attended private school with his sisters and had a very active social life. From the time he was a child, Hunter was very charming. It didn’t matter if It was teachers, students, adults, or children. He seemed to have a way with words, a way of making everybody adore him.
When he was twelve, he noticed fighting between his parents. He assumed It was nothing, but their announced divorce later that year proved the theory wrong. The conversation didn’t go all that badly though. His mother took him aside after the family found out and told him that she loved him. They made a promise--- That even with everything going on, she’d never leave him behind.
She moved out the next summer. And he never heard from her again.
A lot of people thought the loss didn’t affect him because he held himself together quite well, even for a child. But he was hurting. His father was a good man, but he was a pushover. He let her leave. He didn’t fight hard enough. And his mother was his favorite, but she’d left him. She’d broken the promise. He didn’t feel lovable, no matter how many people insisted that he was. And that was a feeling he carried over into adulthood. Though It was masked by romance and charm.
He learned to show his feelings through his art. The shitty polaroid camera from his mother was the last birthday gift she ever gave him. The only gift from her that he held on to. That was what started his love of photography. Moments pass, but you couldn’t ever lose a memory. Not when it’s captured on film.
He enrolled in college at NYU and things really changed for him. It was a new start. That’s what he had convinced himself, anyway. As far as anyone else was concerned, he was perfect. His grades were perfect, his dates of the week were perfect, his photographs were perfect. And he’d even landed the perfect internship at Vibez during his senior year.
He interned under incredible photographers, learning how everything works behind a huge company like Vibez. And when they asked him to stay? How could he say no! The job opportunity was perfect. Until he found out the photography team was full... and he would be placed in the Quiz team now that his internship was done.
𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚
Hunter comes off as very romantic. He can be charming, often masking his true intentions with people. A lot of his relationships feel like magic in the beginning only for him to fade away and grow dis interested. He sees relationships as art, as a moment in time, not as something work fighting for in the long run.
He’s been with a lot of people, and It usually starts the same. He doesn’t have many boundaries so when you’re with him, It feels as though you’re the only person in the world.
He will make you feel special one moment and completely replaceable the next. It’s a cycle he isn’t fully aware of, but it’s a cycle nonetheless. He wants love, he craves love. But at the end of the day, it’s far easier for him to not care that much and leave. God forbid someone else does It first.
However, working at Vibez (while originally a dream) has been a little bit of a nightmare. He’s been on the quiz team for three years now. Each time loosing that spot on the photography team to someone with more experience or with “a new outlook” which is what the execs call a family friend. This has made him charming outside of work, but rather grumpy while on the job. It’s almost like he’s got two different versions of himself.
The lovesick artist versus the bitter perfectionist.
Romance, work and mommy issues aside, he can be a great friend. He's fun, charming, spontaneous, and will do anything to make someone smile. Even if he winds up hurting them in the end. Get used to having your photo taken though. He’s always got a camera around his neck.
