dailies from over the weekend! friday and sunday were both filling my last few sketchbook pages with dnd silliness. saturday i was so busy doing things other than drawing that my journal selfie will have to suffice.

Lay me down among the bones of my reliquary

got the crayola twistables out again. ol reliable. always surprised at how much i enjoy their line quality. anyhow, just another silly essy/hanna doodle while i had their playlist on.

two very different dailies for friday. first, close crop of an illustration i FINALLY pushed over the finish line (look upon my keys). second, dnd session doodle of hen in the rain. can you spot her quasit familiar?

it was a good exercise to do a traditional painting, even if i spent a good chunk of the process feeling frustrated and out of my depth. there was a time when i thought i was never gonna get this looking like something i was proud of, but i did in the end!

apparently mom mentioned in a letter to a friend that i’ve been struggling with artistic burnout. in response the friend sent me a set of her current favorite pens to help 🥺 such a lovely gesture. so these are all with my new pens! just doodling hanna and essy. hopefully in the act of drawing them i’ll get inspired to keep picking at my manuscript, too.

I’m still figuring out this whole burnout situation one stumbling day at a time. We stay as silly as we can here in my neck of the woods 🫡

side effect of low artistic stamina is i will occasionally be forced to put lowkey sexy art on main since it’s all i could draw on a given day.

daily for may 15th (last friday): local artificer performs monkey maintenance. (sketching after dnd that evening.)

may 12th and 14th dailies. sometimes i get it in my head to do comic spreads from ttrpg sessions and do i finish them? very rarely. but i START them. and think about them.

for my may 11th dailies, sketches i did during dnd on monday. 🤖
