I have just jumped on a @bcferries ship to rush home to #yvr. An hour ago, my partner called in a panic because our young pug threw up and collapsed. She took her to @canadawestvets because they are close by and amazing. It turns out our pug had ingested marijuana and was suffering the toxic effects of the drug. According to the vet, this is happening daily in Vancouver. People who smoke up and discard their joints on the ground. I also learned a few of my neighbours have recently experienced this traumatic event. Animals suddenly collapsing because of the high amount of THC in their system. THC is highly toxic to animals and can cause liver and kidney damage. I am putting marijuana smokers on notice. Be responsible and dispose of your weed properly and do not just drop it on the ground. It is not harmless. If I see you dispose of your marijuana indiscriminately, I will make it my life's mission to destroy you.
