Gate 16 is part of the Channel of The Wave Length, A Design of Talent, linking the Throat Center (Gate 16) to the Splenic Center (Gate 48). Gate 16 is part of the Collective Understanding (Logic) Circuit with the keynote of sharing. With Gate 16 we eventually make our mark in the world as a keen critic, skilled performer, or through our talent and enthusiasm for living. We don't, however, begin life that way. We need to identify with a skill or skills, dedicate ourselves to repetition of the pattern, and focus on practice until we reach a point of mastery that transcends the skill itself and becomes an art. The world waits for that moment when the dancer becomes the dance, or when living one's life becomes its own masterpiece. We are looking for the perfect way to express our expertise. Without Gate 48 however, we may become self-critical and feel that we don't have the adequate depth. We are also searching for a source of material support that will allow us to concentrate on perfecting our talent, our theory, our solution, so we can then make it available to the world. We look to people with Gate 48 to bring their depth and dimension to our skill, as well as to properly direct, correct and encourage our own disciplined practice. Gate 8 is part of the Individual (Knowing) Circuit with the keynote of empowerment. Gate 8 says, "I know I can contribute, or not." Our contribution will come either through a public display of our own Individual lifestyle, direction and creations, or by empowering and publicly promoting others. Those who carry this gate are drawn toward what is novel and innovative, and will find themselves attracting other people's attention to it, like the Gallery owner or art agent. Once we get people's attention, all we can do is lead by example. If others wish to follow, they will. This is how we quietly impact the Collective and shift the Tribe's orientation over time. Unless Individuality's innovative contributions are embraced and incorporated in some way by the Collective and the Tribe, they will not take hold. The leadership path of recognizing and displaying what is mutative and unique can be a lonely one as we must first be recognized, and then invited to publicly display and endorse what we know to be of future value. Without the invitation, society's attention may be negative. If Gate 1's creative means of self-expression is not defined in our chart, we will seek its inspirational qualities; however, our key role is not as the artist but as the agent who promotes other artists' vision of the new. Gate 2 is part of the Individual (Knowing) Circuit with the keynote of empowerment. The 'higher' knowing of Gate 2 is rooted in the direction of the self toward love and beauty via the Magnetic Monopole, the Driver. The Driver is focused on our movement in time through space, and built into our design is an innate sense of inner direction, which is not based simply on geographic location. We cannot change this direction through our mind or our will and if others are not going in our direction we may come to a parting of ways. Gate 2 is likened to the key of the vehicle; it starts the engine for the Driver. The motor and the fuel to keep moving in our direction comes from the Sacral Center through Gate 14. We may even find ourselves directing other people toward the resources they need to support their creative endeavors, or discover that by simply aligning to our own direction we automatically empower or confirm in others their own sense of direction. We are visionaries providing the plan or overview for a new way forward, but we are not necessarily to do the work or make it happen. We look to Gate 14 for allies, for the power and resources to bring our vision to fruition.
