Victory Achieved on the 27th Try! 3 separate sessions. On the third session I was defeated once and on the second try I beat him without having to heal myself ( Dark souls Baller...ahem). 

I am back in the best part of Dark souls. Which is fighting a boss like Artorias more than ten times, getting him down to 1/8th health and being struck down by front flip sword slam.
