Hue Shifters

Although I haven't gotten around to officially introducing these characters yet, I've technically shared a little bit about and drawn them all, so I thought I would make a piercings post for them!

Next up for the Pride Rep series we have nonbinary pride, as represented by Rowan Roussel, who is also repping their pan pride~ 💛🤍💜🖤🩷💛🩵 Rowan is another one of the "newer" characters, though one whose very initial concept was from a couple of years ago. They are 28, a dragon, color motif is red, and the one who took Prachal in years ago as part of the household and friend group(with Indigo and Morado, also). They are the primary owner and head of the house, originally moving in together with Indigo(a friend from high school) after college and a couple of other roommates, with the original thought of creating a sort of "safe haven" for other lgbtq+ people. Some roommates have come and gone, but the longest group has been with them, Indi, Mori, and Prachal, who have all been living together for years as best friends and chosen family. This is especially important to Rowan, who had cut their unsupportive parents out of their life when they became of age. Though they no longer wish to speak or associate with them, they have inherited a lot of their "business savvy" ways, as they became a recent co-owner of a drag club with an ex-partner and good friend, along with them having already made a career as a drag performer themself.

Since the last/only time I drew her before was her bio ref in 2022, for those who may not remember, she is Coral's older sister! Heiress to the powerful Rogue vampire clan, she is very charismatic and alluring, knowing how to command a room and capture other people's attention. Since she was always deemed the more well-behaved and "favorite" of the family and community, she often used that to her advantage against her sister. Not that she hates her sister or anything like that, but from being six years older and raised differently, sometimes she can't help but act like a bossy and condescending know-it-all around her, which has caused a rift between the two that they are still slowly trying to break. A great networker, she has taken to the partying lifestyle and acting as a socialite amongst her peers and society, but she makes her true living from being a lingerie model and part-time actress, with a somewhat big social media following on her glam makeup looks account.

I'm not sure if I see her currently having a romantic partner or not, but I can see her as someone who has enjoyed many casual and a few serious lovers over the years. She knows she's attractive, and likes to have fun with other attractive people when she can.

Next up for the Pride Rep series, we have trans pride as represented by Mayuri~! 💙🩷🤍🏳️‍⚧️

Mayuri is one of the newest characters, first conceptualized earlier this year, and she is one of Prachal's siblings(together with their brother, Navil, all three are triplets)! Although I did get the initial idea for Prachal having siblings when I drew their bio reference, I didn't get around to working on them till sometime this year. Mayuri, like Navil, still live in Ivairis while Prachal is building their career in Chromia. Growing up, Mayuri was always the more popular and outgoing one between her and her siblings, a sweetheart who always tried to look on the bright side but always was too much of a people-pleaser who had trouble standing up and advocating strongly for herself. When she later came out and starting embracing herself as the girl she always was, she started gaining more confidence and focused more on her siblings' support than the negativity she faced. When she graduated high school, she knew she wanted to work in lgbtq+ advocacy and activism, with her currently working at an lgbtq+ center in the event-planning and fundraising sections.

Next up for the Pride Rep series we have bi pride, as represented by Prachal here who is also repping their demiboy pride~ 💕💜💙🩶💙🤍

I actually drew Prachal for Pride Month last year, but this is the first time I drew him in his pride flag colors. I wanted to lean heavily into the bi colors for this by not only including them in his shirt, but his hair and eyeshadow also. In terms of his dating history, I do see him with at least two prominent exes, one being a guy in his late teen years and the other being a girl a little more recently in his life. I haven't figured out much beyond those two, but he is currently single with a curious, almost flirtatious energy with one of his fellow models(but of course, knowing who it is he denies it all).

Next up for the Pride Rep series is lesbian pride, as represented by Coral~! 🧡🤍🩷🧛‍♀️

I've drawn her for Pride Month once before, a couple of years ago as part of a 'shippy' piece with the sweet fashion elf, Esme 💚 I also drew her in lesbian pride rep before too, for Lesbian Day of Visibility in 2022, so this drawing also acts as a redraw of that piece!

Happy Pride Month, everyone~! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 I did not mean to take so long into the month to start working on/uploading my celebratory art series for it, but I've still been struggling a lot in a few areas(financially and mentally, mostly) :( But, I've already got half of the drawings done, and I'm very hopeful I can still get the other half done before the month ends! For this year, I am returning to my 'Pride Rep' series, and finally getting the chance to use the Hue Shifters characters for it~! 😁 I had wanted to use these characters for years but didn't have any characters that fit some of the selected identities till around this year, but I am super excited for what I have planned! :3

For gay/mlm pride, it is being represented here by Indigo Neel! 💚🩵💙 Indi is one of the 'newer' characters, although the very initial concept of him was from the fall of 2024. He's 27, a fairy, main color motif is blue, and he's also part of the friend group/house with Prachal. Indi works as a musician, primarily playing at local venues and small, indie music festivals. In terms of him being gay, he's been pretty confident since figuring himself out and has had a few ex-partners. He's currently single, but he does have a crush on one of the other characters~ ;P

I don't know if this would cover the entire plot of the movie, but I had in mind that Rowan co-owns their club with an ex-partner(as well as being an owner, they are also one of the performers). I could imagine this ex being a performer themself too, or Rowan eventually getting a new partner who is also a performer. Because Rowan has dated a lot of people in the past, it could be a potential possibility that they could have a kid from one of those former relationships. Which could then follow the way the movie goes, with some tweaks of course to work better with my characters and universe.

Since I made a similar poll a while ago about trying to figure out what Saffron's potential partner should be(species-wise), I thought I should do the same for Maris' potential boyfriend! These are based on two personalities I had in mind, as well as two different monster species I was thinking about, too. A lot more context is in this post if you want to check it out to get a better idea before voting!

I also added in a "poly is the answer" option just because! I'm not too sure on it yet myself, but I do admit it could be interesting and at the least, it would be a good opportunity to work with more poly pairings.

Happy MerMay! 🧜🧜‍♀️🧜‍♂️ I always try to draw at least one mer to help celebrate the month, and for this year, I drew one of the "newer" characters! This is Morado Fiala, or "Mori", who is a mer! 💜 Here he is in his natural, full mer-form, though he can and does take on a more human form for land.

Mori is also one of Prachal's housemates and closest friends! His earliest concept is from around fall of 2024(mostly just as a first name and color motif, with some small details that could get scrapped), but earlier this year I started work on actually developing and fleshing him out as a proper character more! It is still a work-in-progress, but hopefully I can finish his bio info soon!

For now, I can share some details I have! He is 24(making him the second-youngest in the group), who moved in a year prior to Prachal. He studied theatre arts in college and currently works at a smaller theater, though his exact role I haven't figured out. As a mer, he is pretty musically-talented, though aside from some roles and other small jobs, his career as a musician is mostly just for fun or at-home. I still need to figure out his whole personality, but I would say he is probably the 'softest' of the group. He is also a trans man, having figured himself out and starting his transition in his teen years. This is also the first time I've drawn a shirtless trans character, or have drawn top surgery scars, but I wanted to attempt it for this piece.

I've been in a bit of a mood for AUs in general lately, and since I've mostly been focused on Hue Shifters so far this year, I thought I would revisit an old AU idea I had!

Like the title says, this is an AU for Azure, of him as a single parent. I don't remember when exactly I first thought of the idea, but it must have been a few years ago at least as I remember it was before I came up with Prachal's concept. I do remember it came about to me randomly one day, sort of in a "what if this happened?" kind of way. I don't know what may have inspired it or why for Azure specifically, but the concept/storyline I have in my head does fit some other tropes and fictional characters/stories I enjoy/enjoyed(including some inspiration from other people's original characters), and I think has a lot of potential for both character growth and humorous or emotional moments, so why not play around with it?

((Keep in mind again that this is just an AU, and also that this doesn't mean I will be making any Hue Shifters next-gen kids anytime soon. This is just for a bit of fun!))

I actually first made this playlist sometime back in February, and thought I might as well share even if it is still a work-in-progress. Basically, this playlist is my attempt at making a playlist for a story, with this being for the Azure/Prachal one I want to make! I always thought the fic playlists I've seen from others looked fun(I have a few saved from fics I've read), so this was really fun to try myself! :3

If you are wondering, "Maybe There's More To Life" is the current working title for the story( which is potentially STC)! In this playlist, I have a mixture of songs that is there either purely for vibes, I think fits their relationship/the story more specifically, or that I could see fitting some story elements/chapters in a way. For example, "Can't Sleep Love" fitting their respective jaded experiences with love and wanting something new and refreshing, "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)" fitting Prachal's side later on as he starts to gain feelings but tries to deny them(with his friends/roommates taking the role of the muses in calling him out), and "Beat It" purely just because I am thinking of putting a dance battle scene or something kind of similar in the story(maybe not using the song specifically, but the inspiration is from a movie).
