panic cord, scout & ollie
Ollie brushed away her efforts at help, her small hands raised in the air so eager to try for him. It was embarrassing really, that he still did this and hadn’t grown out of the fights or dragging Scout into it each and every time. The instructions she relaid were simple enough and he leaned heavily against the counter in question, he was so tired but at this point he had no idea if he had a concussion or not and letting himself drift off was a really bad idea. One hand shot out to steady her as she carefully climbed onto the sink, she didn’t look as though she was about to fall but instinct made him reach out anyway. He let out a bone-achingly deep sigh and nudged his face deeper into her palm, eyelashes fluttering against his cheeks “Thank you,” he breathed against the tiny pads of her fingers.
In Ollie’s mind, there was probably a good reason to start the fight. Sure, in the eyes of everyone else, probably not, but that’s besides the point as of right now. She needed him calm and okay. Which, seemed to be the case but she didn’t know what was going on in the inside. Running the cloth under the hot water, she dampens it to bring it to wipe away marks of blood on his eyebrow, running down his cheek. “What am I gonna do with you...” She sighs, in a more endearing tone. Her other hand rests at the nape of his neck, rubbing her thumb over the skin in soothing motions. She tilted her head to the side as she noticed his heavy eyes and vacant stares. “Don’t fall asleep on me,” She stops rubbing to lightly slap him, speaking with an agitated tone, only to go back to soft and comforting. “You can sleep when we’re done.” Scout liked when for once he was the first to fall asleep and she could rub patterns into his shoulders and take care of him.

Garrett wanted to roll his eyes, but instead pulled out his pack of cigarettes and got up. He wandered over to a window and light up, breathing in the smoke and looked back at her. “Glad someone figured it out,” was all he said before turning back to look out the window as he kept one hand crossed over his chest. If she didn’t like the smell of his smoke, he was more than confident she would tell him so.
Scout raised her eyebrows as he stood up to go over by the window. How considerate of him. She sits up with a chuckle and gives him a squinty look. “You don’t have to smoke all the way over there. Jesus, I just lit up a bowl in here, you think tobacco is gonna bother me?” She kinda wanted one of her own now, but she figured she’d pace herself for now. “Come sit back down.” She waved him back over.

panic cord, scout & ollie
Ollie followed her as quietly as he could, footfalls nearly silent as he stepped lightly in his tough leather boots. The brightness in the bathroom was too sudden for his eyes and spots danced across his vision, he swiped a hand across his brow and winced when he pressed against a sore spot above his left eye socket. He wrung his bleeding hands together as he thought of a way to tell her but drew a blank, the pressure was lifted when he ascertained that she was too furious to even try to hear him out right now. Justified really, but it still hurt. “I bruised the left side…” he muttered, as he reached back and grasped the sweater from the nape. The awkward position made a flare of pain shoot through him but he grit his teeth and stifled the groan that was nearly forced out of him. The hard look she’d been focusing on him melted away as she looked down to the damage and he shifted uncomfortably.
He watched as he struggled to grasp at his shirt. Her hands lifted to help him but she was tiny and wouldn’t be able to help him in the slightest. The pain was so evident that Scout realized she could be angry later. Right now was make-sure-ollie’s-okay time. She saw his side, and how the purple was just starting to form. “Jesus, Oliver,” She muttered, pushing up her long sleeves and softly running a finger over the spot to feel what was underneath. Looking up at him quickly she licked her lips nervously, “Lean against the counter, I’ll wash you up.” She grabbed a wash cloth and climbed on top of the sink to be at eye-level with him. “It’s okay,” She smiled, running her thumb across his cheek. She didn’t know what he did, or why he did it, or if he felt guilty at all, but it’s all fine. Everything’s fine right now. No one’s in critical condition (she figures), Scout’s not mad, not really, and he came to her with always makes her feel better. If he’s hurt, she's rather he come to her than anyone else.

Nova sat on one of the stools beside Scout so the two where at the same level as Nova began to sing and Scout began to play. Looking out into the crowd and seeing everyone nodding and singing along, she smiled over at Scout as she sang, thinking the two of them should do this more often.
Things like this don’t last enough, and as Scout chimed in with her own harmonies and little bits and pieces to add, she was truly enjoying herself. Scout had no idea how fun this was going to be, and it was clear on her face how much fun she was having. When it came to it’s end, she smiled and looked at the crowd as people clapped and cheered.

Nova smiled as they walked up on stage and the people in the shop stopped to watch them preform. “I’m Nova, and this is Scout and we will be doing This Is What You Get for you guys today.” Nova said into the small mic as she took a place on stage beside Scout. Nova loved being on stage, it felt so natural. And being up there with Scout only made her enjoy herself more.
Scout enjoyed the stage as long as she wasn’t the only one there. And with Nova, it was even more fun. Scout began strumming to the beginning of the song and nodding along like she would usually do when playing. She kind of missed playing with Nova.

“What? That you’re not my type?” he asked, giving a small laugh as he shook his head. If she believed him or not, that wasn’t any of his concern. No one really did bother to ask what he was into, rather things along ‘then what kind of girl are you into’ and it had become a process of just grunting and rolling his eyes. Even now he just laid back against the couch still, busily watching the TV, a little interested in what was playing, though unsure what it was exactly.
“I’m everyone’s type, babe.” She rolls over, her limbs feeling loose from the stretch. Everyone loves Scout for their own weird little reasons. She’s sexy, and not charming in a charming way. People adored her and wanted her, or they hated her and wanted her. She was just that person. Though, she knew she wasn’t on Garrett’s radar, and that was perfectly fine. “You don’t have to admit it out loud, sweetie.” She pats his cheek with a lazy grin.

“You’re not my type anyways,” he said as his head tilted back against the cushion. His eyes closed as he just relaxed for a moment, pocketing his phone and shrugged. “Kick me out then,” not minding just how this night went. He did have to admit the fact some people thought he was straight-passing was amusing, even though most people argued he was probably asexual. When sexuality mattered almost as much as the music you made was beyond Garrett, figuring it was no one but his own business and those that he did end up sleeping with.
As an individual who battles with confusion and figuring oneself out, she doesn’t give a rats ass about other people’s orientation. Even if she did know Garrett’s orientation, she’d probably still act the same. Scout just laughs, though, stretching herself back on the couch, letting her limbs elongate to stretch out, hearing a few cracks in the process as she made a sound indescribably to match the stretch. “Yeah, that was a good one.”

Nova perked up at Scouts suggestion, she was a sucker for Paramore songs so as soon as Scout as That’s What You Get she was sold on the idea. “Paramore, yes. We are totally going this, come on.” Nova said with a smile as she reached for Scouts hand to pull her up to the stage with her.
Scout raised her eyebrows, genuinely surprised at how for it she was. But Scout just laughs, going along with it as she was dragged up to the stage. Immediately, there were cheers and claps. Scout just grins as she looks to grab a guitar sitting on a stand. “Lead the way.” Scout nods towards Nova. This was mostly her idea, anyways.

Milli only wore a smile and nodded,”I’d bet. How was the west coast compared to the east?” The brunette thought it a bit awkward, but went through with the conversation. She was happy for Scout. She deserved it. It only irked her a bit that Scout had gotten what they wanted. “Not too bad,” She said with a shrug,”Um, this is my last year at UMCP.”
Scout’s body felt tense as she shrugged at the question. There was a lot of shrugging today. “I didn’t hate it, but it’s nothing to the East. It’s better here. Clearly.” Chuckling just softly, she licks her lips and looks at her feet, still unable to tell what to do. But Milli answered Scout question and thank god for that, giving her something to go with. “Ay, congrats. I hope it all goes well for you.” That was true. Scout’s always wished the best for Milli.
Armie groaned. “I don’t want to hear from PR for at least a week Scout, promise me that. If I get another call about one of us ending up on the cover of every trashy magazine I’m going to quit the band.” He was kidding, of course, but he’s been berated enough for a lifetime. He was just a kid, he should be allowed to make mistakes. “Oh god no. Give it a month and I’ll bored of this whole normal thing and start jamming on street corners.” Armie couldn’t picture his life without music anymore. Sure it got overwhelming at times, but if had the pressure of tours and managers taken away he knew he’d find his passion for the art again.
Scout just chuckles and shakes her head, “I’ll try my best. Scout’s honor.” She holds up the fingers. Her favorite pun to make. Her whole life. Sipping from her cup again, she sets down the cup with an exaggerated sigh, placing her hand on her chest. “Thank god. I’ll jam with you.” At least now she wont feel bad if they don’t play tonight. Everyone will have their share of Aristotle even on their vacation. Scout, too, couldn’t survive without doing music at this point. Hell, she’s still writing music right now. It’s impossible to stop at this point.

Armie laughed, leaning back in his chair. He didn’t doubt the bassist, she had a way of expressing herself with her fists. “If you do I’m going to have to fireman carry you out of here. But I think everyone would applaud you.” Armie sighed, bringing his drink to his lips. “We’re on a break, I wish people would realize that.” He loved performing, he wouldn’t be where he was if he didn’t. But it was nice to have a break from all of the pressure.
Scout laughs with him and sits back in her chair, “I bet they would. That’d be a fun picture to have floating around the internet. Our PR would be thrilled.” She can imagine the phone call she’d get. They’re supposed to lay low, not punch people. “Yeah, I know,” She runs her fingers through her hair. “Do you really plan to go six months without playing for people?” Scout didn’t even know if she could do that. She gets not doing it right now, as they just go home. But the whole time? She (along with the fans) would go nuts.

Milli only nodded slightly in response and drummed her fingers on the table silently. She couldn’t think of any other small talk. The two hadn’t really talked in a while and when they did last speak, things didn’t end on great terms. “So, uh, how was your tour?” Milli asked, speaking through the current artist who only banged on a set of bongo drums.
Brushing a few strands of her hair back, she licks her lips, looking at the imprint on the table from over the years. “I can’t really put it into words. It was fun, and exhausting, and hard...” She didn’t feel right talking about great it was to Milli, of all people. She felt like it’d just be indecent and plain rude. Considering that they wanted to do what she does now. Except, together. “How has everything been here, though? Like, what are you doing?” She clears her throat, looking up.
