i haven’t spoken about this yet but i’ve been thinking about lewis’ 20 year celebration post and how nico isn’t there in any of the photos like in all honesty it’s crazy because nico’s gone on dts talking about lewis he’s ALWAYS talking about lewis but lewis on the other hand is the same man that, online, has completely erased his former best friend out of his journey as an f1 driver not even going to sugarcoat that. it’s not mean even though it seems like it is because nico does deserve some part of his history, right? he should be on that post, right? but that’s the thing. nico was such a big part of his life that his presence haunts the narrative and doesn’t need to be on there. his impact on lewis’ life was (is) unspoken— i’m still here, and i always will be. i’ve never seen such sad pairs of the genre that formula 1 seems to uniquely have until i got into the sport

i have always believed that lewis ignoring nicos existence is because it’s the biggest thing nico has always craved. validation. and he does it so he can win their stupid little game

Lewis not even having Nico in any photos of his 20 year anniversary in f1 post even tho he showed some of his early seasons. Nico coming on drive to survive ten years after leaving and still talking about Lewis. Idk man, sums up the way they go about this pretty well I think.
