European College of Sport Science - ECSS 2026 in Lausanne is coming to a close … and we are looking back on great four days!

The congress gave us plenty of opportunities to discuss practical applications in sports science, connect with researchers and practitioners and demonstrate technologies that support performance testing, training, and movement analysis.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, joined our live demonstrations, and shared their perspectives. We greatly appreciated the interest in our latest developments, including 3D kinematics, gait stability training and perturbation systems, and the many live CPET sessions throughout the lunch and coffee breaks.

Events like ECSS are a reminder of how valuable the exchange between science and practice really is. We are heading back to our headquarters with a lot of new input.

Thank you, Lausanne and to the ECSS committee, for being such a fantastic host. We are already looking forward to continuing the conversations and seeing many of you again at ECSS 2027 in Manchester.

Thanks to Larus Sport and University of Zagreb, Faculty of Kinesiology, for trusting in the gaitway 3d biomechanics treadmill made by h/p/cosmos sports & medical gmbh.

What started as a vision on paper is now steadily becoming reality. On a 26,000 m² site in Traunstein, our future headquarters is taking shape and marks an exciting new chapter for h/p/cosmos.

Over the past weeks, major milestones have been reached: the foundation slab has been completed, and the first structures of our 4,000 m² production hall plus 1,000 m² office and storage space are now clearly visible. With construction progressing at an impressive pace, the energy on site is unmistakable!

In total there will be 4 production halls and 4 office buildings on the h/p/cosmos DALA Campus.

To celebrate this moment, we came together for a topping-out event inside the future production facility. Surrounded by concrete, steel, and big ambitions, company founder Franz Harrer and Managing Director Richard Schmidt welcomed our team and project partners.

Listening to Felix Limmer from Goldbeck Süd and our Project Manager Michael Zeiser, it became clear how much coordination, expertise, and passion go into a project of this scale and how far we’ve already come.

In small groups, our team explored the construction site, walking through spaces that will soon be filled with innovation, technology and teamwork. What is still a construction site today will soon become the heart of our production.

And of course, no celebration is complete without sharing a moment together: with burgers, fries, and soft ice cream, we raised a glass to the progress made and to everything that still lies ahead.

Yesterday, we welcomed 37 pupils from two local schools to our premises. Chiemgau GmbH organised the roadshow ‘Want to be a boss? Then make it happen. In Chiemgau’ and visited locally established businesses as part of the event.

Company founder Franz Harrer (the “h” in h/p/cosmos) welcomed the pupils to the current site in Nussdorf and gave an insight into his career, the history of the company and current prospects, including the construction of the new h/p/cosmos DALA Campus in Traunstein/Haslach.

For three decades, Richard Schmidt has stood for reliability, down-to-earth values, and entrepreneurial vision. This year, we are celebrating a very special milestone: Richard Schmidt has been with h/p/cosmos sports & medical gmbh for 30 years!

An extraordinary career that serves as a prime example of what is possible with dedication, professional expertise, and passion.

Richard Schmidt began his professional career with h/p/cosmos as an electrician in 1996. Even in those early years, he was characterized by a strong technical understanding, a sense of responsibility, and an eye for practical solutions—qualities that were valued not only in daily operations but also by his colleagues.

As his experience grew, Richard Schmidt took on increasing responsibility—initially in the technical field, and later progressively in administration, HR management, and finance. His deep understanding of processes, products, and, above all, people, formed the foundation for his next steps: his appointment as Technical Operations Manager in 2006, followed by being granted Authorized Signatory (Prokurist) in 2007. Even in these roles, he contributed significantly to the company's further development and played an active part in shaping key strategic decisions.

The logical next step followed 10 years ago with his appointment as Managing Director in 2016. In this capacity, Richard Schmidt continues to play a decisive role in shaping h/p/cosmos today. His leadership style is clear, empathetic, reliable, and characterized by mutual respect. He combines entrepreneurial thinking with technical depth, never losing sight of the people involved.

Today, Richard Schmidt is forming the Top Management Board of h/p/cosmos sports & medical gmbh together with Alexander Böck (also Managing Director), Dr. Björn Zimmermann (Authorized Signatory) and Nadine Schott (Authorized Signatory).

Among those offering their congratulations was, of course, h/p/cosmos company co-founder Franz Harrer.

30 years with h/p/cosmos represent more than just professional milestones; they represent countless projects, challenges, successes, and shared moments. We would like to sincerely thank Richard Schmidt for this commitment, his decades of loyalty, and his continuous drive for development.

This week we had the pleasure to welcome sales and product experts of our distribution partner Physiomed Group and at the h/p/cosmos headquarter! The meeting focussed on our treadmill solutions for orthopaedic and neurologic rehabilitation! The sessions started with an overview on the hardware from treadmills to airwalk ap unweighting system and robowalk expanders and included our software solutions like the perturbation module, the virtual reality solution VAST.Rehab and of course zebris pressure distribution solutions.

Special thanks to the team of Physiomed for visiting us and for the massive interest in our solutions!

Full throttle at the construction site in Traunstein! The h/p/cosmos DALA campus – our home to be – is making great progress. Within the past 10 days, the first layer of the roof, first window segments and insulation layers have been installed!

With up to 4 production halls and 4 office buildings, the final stage (planned for 2027/2028) still holds some tasks for the construction team!

Update on the h/p/cosmos DALA Campus in Traunstein

One month has passed since our last update on the construction site and we’re happy to share some impressions of the past 4 weeks! The staircase and the mezzanine are in place and the roof supporting structures are being set up! The dimensions of the new manufacturing site show a clear commitment to the area and our profound future plans.

The new h/p/cosmos DALA Campus is taking shape rapidly, with the project moving forward at full speed and with the highest priority. Every new step brings us closer to creating a modern hub for innovation, development, and collaboration.

Burgunde Plenk hatte h/p/cosmos im Jahr 1988 bei der Unternehmensgründung und Wahl des Firmennamens beraten.

Obwohl das schon 38 Jahre her ist, waren viele schöne Momente und wichtige Ereignisse aus dieser Zeit noch sehr gut in Erinnerung und Gesprächsthemen letzte Woche bei einer Tasse Kaffee ☕️.

Visiting HaB Direct Anne and Harry Brar, Pete Brown, Stuart Jackson, Jack Elliott, Rachel Gilbertson and Janet Thomas this week in their premises in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 for the traditional annual meeting with our distributors and partners.

More than 500 complex and sophisticated h/p/cosmos treadmills, unweighting devices and gait training systems installed in United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and Ireland 🇮🇪 through HaB Direct over the last 30+ years are really remarkable, making them worldwide one of the most successful h/p/cosmos sports & medical gmbh distributor.

Especially the fact that HaB Direct installed so many pulsar, saturn and gaitway 3d high end, biomechanics and oversized h/p/cosmos treadmills in universities, research centers and sport science institutes is remarkable and helped building up a unique reputation for h/p/cosmos and for HaB Direct.
