What kind of parents do you see as Fred and Lydia? What will be their views on raising children? Who did they want more: a boy or a girl (maybe both at once)? What will Ferox be like in the role of a grandfather?

I was born under a lucky staaaaaar…ahem, sorry 👉🏼👈🏼
You've just fulfilled one of my dreams, and now let's get down to business. My answer will be a bit long (but structured, I promise!), so those who are reading, grab something to eat and turn on your favourite music in your headphones (if you're anything like me 😅)
In a nutshell, Fred and Lydia are parents who need to chill. In other words, they really need to sit down and comprehend that their child is more than okay, and there is no need to fuss over him. They're parents who are (overly) respectful of their child's personal space, feelings and opinions. As you may have guessed, their main problem is overreacting. Why are they like that? The reasons that I can give now are: 1) they had their son too early and inevitably felt confused 2) they definitely did not expect their son to be like this. He is surprisingly quiet, often creepily observant and (talking about his teens) just wants his mom and dad to not worry and enjoy life.
A few words about what parents they are individually and their views on parenting:
Lydia is quite proud of her status as a mother, in her reserved manner. She is proud of her son as he is, enjoys pointing out what qualities he most definitely inherited from her and likes to muse about several future career options for him (to be honest, Fred does this too). Despite this, she never imposes her dreams on her child, but simply continues to set herself, his father and grandfathers as examples for him to choose who he wants to look up to and in which way. (She's also very supportive of his independence and his desire to constantly brew soothing tea for his father. 😆)
Fred unconsciously sticks to the "Daddy first, then my wife, then my son" set of mind. Not in terms of love, they don't have the problem of "You love them more than me.” He perceives it as how much each of them needs his attention and protection. (It should be clarified that while Fred is ready to literally protect Lydia, he is well aware that she'll probably be the first to protect him.) This makes him worry about whether his son is actually getting enough of his attention. Therefore, when he's at home, he tries to find common activities for them so that his son doesn't feel left out especially while his parents go into full "Gomes & Morticia" mode.
Hmmm... It's hard to say who they wanted more. That's because Lydia was like, "It's a boy." from the moment she saw the positive test and further. She stated it very adamantly and she was right. Fred was just... happy to agree. 🤣 (Here's a fun fact: A few years later, when Lydia and her husband were discussing "what if a girl had been born," she stated with the same iron confidence that a girl would have turned out to be just as loud and energetic as Fred, if not twice as. As the "God" of my little world, I'm telling you she was right about that, too.) They're going to have a lot of drama about a potential daughter, and they end up never having a girl (or a second boy), but as a consolation in the more distant future, Fred will get a granddaughter and a niece whom he will adore crazily.
And finally we got to Ferox. Ooh, that's a pretty funny one. He expected anything but to become a grandpa in a matter of months. His thoughts on this are something like the following: "The baby is cool, but it's not my baby. I'll help you as much as I can, I'm just warning you that I might do something weird because I don't remember much about babies." Simply put, at first he was rather curious than touched by the little one. Maybe something similar to what elder siblings feel towards their younger sibling (I'm an only child so I don't have any experience). In any case, he loves his grandson and often looks after him (although it's a good question who looks after whom...) when asked by the kids. Also because Grandpa Vlad is obviously much busier. When the boy grows up, they develop a good understanding without a lot of words. And together they feel ashamed for Fred wearing a miniskirt.

Ferox? Yes, undoubtedly. The only thing is that he's more of a playmate rather than a caregiver. I mean, of course, he will take responsibility for ensuring that the child is fed, put to bed and healthy. However, he cannot bring himself to talk with the child like a parent would, because this is initially untrue.
Fred doesn't feel particularly enthusiastic about other people's children. He can do basic things like feed the child, take a walk with them, make sure they go to bed on time, and so on, but he won't play pretend in games and choose his expressions. So he's definitely not the most sought-after candidate for babysitter.
Wait I don't think I noticed on my previous reading, but Dracula really dressed up with Jonathan's clothes!!??? This monster has no shame nor respect!!!!

This sketch is a piece of a tiny rusreal (Russian reality) AU that exists only in my imagination, but has a bit of lore.
In this AU, Ferox is a university professor at the Department of Physics and Mathematics, and Vlad... Well, actually, I haven't decided on his job/what he does for a living yet, but the bottom line is that he doesn't have a university degree, and he wants to get one. And since he and Ferox live in the same block of flats, Vlad starts pestering him to "tutor" him, for a start.
Their children, Fred, Lydia and Drac, are teenagers.
Of course, Ferox and Fred have Russian names here. Vlad and Lydia remain by their names, and Dracula's name is most likely Leonid (don't ask why...)
In this AU, I gave Ferox a dog, a cat, and a parrot. The poor guy doesn't have any pets in the main story as he doesn't dare take responsibility for them because of his condition.

I can say well-written characters come with time and inspiration flows. Just add different details as they come to mind and do research to expand the lore. It's okay for some characters to stay "flat", while others will have a whole biography, it all depends on your sympathy for them. I still don't have character designs drawn for some of mine. 🥲

It doesn't seem so difficult and cool, but. I kind of put a lot of effort into it, and this is my first time, so...*folds hands on the table and waits* Maybe something like this will make me more successful, because it looks more presentable? Or am I kidding myself again?
The layout was the WORST part :( It's easy to write down exactly what's going to happen, but it's almost impossible to understand how all that will be placed on the page (unless it's some kind of brilliant idea that stands out). Also it sometimes confuses me when I sketch.

Okay, a little bit of context so that you don't think that I'm crazy and want you to laugh at something not funny. The gif itself is funny though, isn't it?
It's part of their dynamic. In the early years, Vlad is a friendly annoying guy, and Ferox shies away from him. Obviously, since Vlad is much older and has real power. But they're a family now, they have to get along. I understand that you probably aren't interested in this part of my lore, but I wanted to share it anyway. Unfortunately, I don't have a friend I could talk about such niche information with.
With two posters deleted and the first one gone into the oblivion, I'm entering (hopefully) a new life and preparing the last steps very soon, as long as homework doesn't drag me to the bottom again.
