one habit (amongst many) of hino's that i find particularly irritating is how she pairs up the humans/hunters with vampires in an utterly uninspired, lazy, cheap, and ridiculous attempt to show that interspecies romance conquers all or whatever bc it's so out of touch.. literally the shitty shoujo manga equivalent of what they do in bridgerton where they think a king marrying a black woman can magically erase racism

#hino treats the hunters in general so callously its insane to me. this woman genuinely GENUINELY has no idea how to write characters like #her grasp on what motivates characters and what drives them and influences them to make the choices they make is so shallow #characters like zero and yagari have so many traumas deeply rooted in the experiences they've had with vampires #zero watching his parents getting slaughtered in front of his very eyes #yagari having to kill his own FIANCEE bc she got turned by a pureblood #(and kaito having to do the same for his brother)#and you're telling me they'd just go fall in love with vampires? after all that they've went thru? are you fucking daft?#genuinely want to perform experiments on hino like a rat in a cage and inspect her to see how her mind works #(it probably doesn't lbr)

remember that time ppl in the fandom equated zero's hate for vampires to racism.. legiterally the vampire stannies are insane
