it's really funny how people talk about dwarf fortress as if it's this impenetrable reality simulator that produces crazy stories that don't make sense and then you play it and it's actually just like a slightly higher than average amount of cool systems. it's really not that difficult to learn and the stories are not that strange most of the time.
not to hate it's very charming it reminds me of when I played oblivion as a kid for the first time at a friend's house and thought it was like a crazy life simulator and then it's just a mid mechanically shallowish RPG. IDK it's all just systems man I can't help but see the systems.
