nononoooo just had the vision of a smol Eli going to Stiles and trying to get his attention and saying “mama?” all soft and quiet but Stiles is lying in bed listless and unresponsive, obviously not doing well mentally.

Stiles starting a part time job in senior year of high school in a local chain restaurant like think olive garden or chili’s lol and Derek is one of the cooks.
Stiles is getting trained as a server. Derek immediately finds him gorgeous obviously lol but Derek is a quiet dude and he just observes. sometimes too hard actually like he can fixate on you for a while and it’s kind of weird.
the other cooks always tease Stiles and make conversation with him and such and Stiles has some snark in him and he talks back a lot and the cooks like it.
Derek rarely says a word to him. Stiles thinks Derek hates him at first but as he gets to know the staff more they let him know Derek is just real quiet but he’s nice enough and always does his job perfectly.
the first time Stiles makes a mistake in his orders, Stiles gets really anxious but Derek wordlessly fixes the problem. the other cooks grumble but they don’t say anything outright to Stiles.
later when the rush is over Derek slides a plate fries towards Stiles when he comes in the back.
Stiles is like 🥺 for me? and Derek just nods and turns away. the other cooks are all like 🤐🤐 but they are having a DAY.
