i just wanna say that i love both u and the blorbo <3 (ironically enough, it was ur blog that sparked in me the uwu's for homie lol) also, can i ask for homie with a foreigner reader? maybe that's just my brazilian ahh wanting to see how homie would react to the cultural difference but me thinks that would be pretty funny :3

That's a scenario ripe for shenanigans for sure, lol. He's pretty arrogant with how he feels about America over other countries. He's not ignorant about other cultures, he's just dismissive over the thought they could dare challenge his ingrained love of apple pie and baseball. But I feel if the reader was a foreigner it would cause a small shift in him. He wouldn't be defending their culture, he'd become emotionally attached to it because he sees it as a part of them. He could share in their culture and create a tiny personal world for them both outside of Vought. It's like, big Homie always has to adapt to a world not built for him, but now he's willingly adapting to the reader's world because they matter to him. It's another way he can express his love.

I think I can try to make this theme work into a fic, it's a really cute idea. I'd make the reader Italian just because that's a culture I'm more familiar with. And they could ease Homelander into Italian music starting with the classic Italian-American singers like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, that way he's not too snarky about it lmao. 😂 (also a link to the song referenced below because it's a favourite of mine)

It's probably obvious I'm not American as I had to look up what the difference was between the two holidays, lmao. 😂

I think President's Day would be his favourite because he's a walking encyclopaedia and gets to showcase his knowledge of all the founding fathers. He'd singlehandedly win the "President's Day Trivia Contest". The Fourth of July is Homelander's ultimate corporate holiday, it's the day Vought chose to be his "birthday" so it's the day he loathes the most. Getting paraded around for the public spectacle with no time to himself, it's not like he has anything to celebrate.

I can imagine the reader wanting to make Fourth of July special solely because of how miserable he gets. They'd surprise him after he comes home from filming his televised birthday special with a bunch of silly activities to make new fun memories. They'd buy a box of cheap sparklers and party horns, paint his face with the American flag colours (he'd hate it lol), and bake some America-themed cupcakes together so he can get a special one for his "birthday". And then to top the night off Homie would pick the reader up and fly out his penthouse balcony, hovering above the skyline for the perfect view so they can enjoy watching the fireworks.

Wanted to draw another version of an older piece I did with Homelander holding hands with the reader.

Personally I'm not a big fan of The Boys comic… and lowkey the show too (lmao). I've never been into superhero media or gratuitous shock value schlock, I only watched the show because I liked Antony Starr's Homelander so much. One of the aspects I love is how nuanced his childhood trauma is and how we see it shape him as an adult. How he developed all these little tics and insecurities, how he remained mentally stunted as an abused child and acts like he thinks an adult would, how he always wants a higher position but it never satisfies him, how he craves love and validation but continuously fails at understanding how to get it. I just find comic Homie more shallow and less interesting as a character. We don't get that same depth in the comics because he serves his purpose as an arrogant jackass who gets driven to insanity by Black Noir's actions.

Also comic Homelander might be like 6'5" or whatever but big Homie's got the reader to protect him, lol. 😂

Homelander would take grave offence to someone creating a dress-up game of him where he's not treated like the god he is (aka being forced to wear embarrassing outfits (aka anything other than his regular supersuit)).

I bet the reader making a cheeky remark about how they'd enjoy seeing Homie dress up in something silly would make his brain overheat trying to think of the implications, lol. Like they would not even remember saying that to him but he'd be ruminating over every aspect of "you should wear a maid outfit" for weeks. 😂

Every time I see the Voughtland Homelander mascot I am filled with dread, lmao. Like yeah he's got the "Big Homie" vibes I crave but that combo of the vacant painted-on stare and the screen mesh teeth terrifies me. 😂

Lowkey just imagining the reader going to Voughtland alone and seeing that version of the Homie mascot, and just being so unsettled. There's something off about their pookie...

Lmao, it's no problem!! ❤️ With Homelander's super strength I bet he could bite holes in anything. You could kill an afternoon just seeing what he could bite through, and give him a lil' designated box full of stuff to nibble on when he needs to blow off steam.

Lol well, luckily for Homelander's mother he was a smaller-than-average kid. He didn't start shooting up like a rocket and getting scary tall until he was about 13. I did write a fic a couple years ago going into his childhood a bit more; basically Soldier Boy's DNA and the excess Compound V in utero caused him to undergo a super-charged puberty. But prior to that he was a wee bab.
