It's only been something I've encountered a couple times during my Wolf's Rain archaeology moods (thank GOD), but every time I've seen someone say with their full chest that Hige or Tsume are traitors who are entirely at fault for their respective backstories I go "either A: the point flew right over your head, B: your morals are kinda fucked, or C: Tsume and/or Hige themselves wrote this post"

#nobody gets the “”traitorism“” parallels between them like I do #spelling it out very very clearly here: tsume ran from a hoard of soldiers who were actively gunning down his pack. which. I think is-#literally what anyone's first instinct would be in this situation #hige was fucking brainwashed by a genocidal ruler to seek out other wolves while wearing a tracking device so they could be killed #and it is expressed. MULTIPLE times that he had certain memories blocked out in his head so he had no idea what he was doing and that-#trying to remember the truth of the situation was causing him physical pain #but regardless of the unfair situations it can be gathered that the remaining members of their packs blamed them wholeheartedly for these-#things. the two of them in turn believe that they were indeed traitors and it takes a horrible toll on their self esteem (tsume believes-#it's best that he isolates from everyone which is why he's like That at the beginning and hige is straight up suicidal over it)#and I'm spelling it out because I feel it is VITAL to understand this to get everything going on between them in the final episodes and-#their characters as a whole. because it's FASCINATING and I LOVE IT #and it saddens me that there are apparently people who just seemingly took it at face value and are missing out on this juicy stuff #one of the connecting threads for the 4 main wolves is guilt and it is incredibly important to me ok?#I just needed to be an apologist for anime wolves for a minute #wolf's rain #wolfs rain #tsume wolf's rain #hige wolf's rain #tsume #hige
