As a trans person (albeit zero transition), and someone who identifies as bi, I may have some stuff to add to this convo.Β
If Iβm taking home a lady, who is packing a dick, itβs going to be a moment of surprise for me. Iβm going to react withΒ βoh shit okay,β and that may be psychologically damaging for a transwoman. I donβt mindΒ that she has a penis, not at all, and Iβm going to probably still bed her (ayeee), but thereβs that moment ofΒ βoh wait hold on, iβve got to replan my game here for blowing her mindβ haha But also, for me as a trans person? That moment of surprise? That flicker in someoneβs eye, when youβre showing them all of you in the most vulnerable position, thatβs damaging. This isnβt just to protect you as the person who is surprised. Itβs to protect the other person as well.Β
For me, personally, I will always, always always inform someone that Iβm trans and I use a strap-on. Iβve told even straight men this, and some of them have been okay with it (because Iβll switch with them because I actually really love penetration). Some of them ask that I donβt use a strap on and we just have sexΒ βnormallyβ and some have actually goneΒ βokayβ¦Iβm curiousβ¦letβs do this.β But you have to give them that opportunity to, so to speak, make that βgame plan.β Or that look of surprise is going to hurt.Β
Itβs extremely important that if you know youβre going to have sex with someone, all partiesΒ need to be informed. HIV status, genital status, yes large dick status (if itβs actually extremely large because yeah that can be a huge deal breaker for a lot of people) and anything else that is vital to the the phrase of: consensual sex. I wonβt get into the legal side of this (hi Iβm about to be an attorney in less than a month), but thereβs actually legality and consent issues. You can be sued for example, for not disclosing STIβs. Does this mean you have to tell someone IMMEDIATELY upon meeting them? Hell no! But this is to protect youΒ and the other person. Informed sex is the best sex. Bisexuality does not meanΒ βno sex with trans personsβ (at least it doesnβt for me, fuck maybe Iβm pan idk idc), it means I like whatever you identify as, male or female, whatever, i donβt care. But I still need to know what youβre packing so that I can make sure the experience is the most pleasurable for you and i donβt hurt you with my look of surprise, even when itβs not malicious, again, that game-plan is important.Β
Also, I know a straight guy whoβs with a trans lady who has not undergone bottom surgery and she wont. She told him in a mess of tears and you know what straight guy did? He said it didnβt matter, but he was just glad she told him so he knew what to expect.Β
These donβt all have to end in tragic stories, and sometimes they will. But guess what, those people donβt deserve you (as the one who must inform) and if youβre the person turning them away, Iβm not going to explicitly judge you, but I am going to frown at you for deciding their genitals make up who they are as a person and not the person you were starting to feel comfortable enough to have sex with. But thatβs a whole other conversation and this is already pretty damn long. But at the end of the day, it is their decision, and we have to respect that. Not everyone is going to be comfortable with a trans person, and ya know, thatβs just how it is. Iβm not going to force a person to be comfortable with it, Iβm not going to hate them for it. As I said, Iβll frown. But again their decision and their sexuality is valid too.
