Hey, there are only 2 weeks left to get your votes in for the 2026 Papa Bear Awards.

And it's finished! (Minus the keychain; turns out I need larger jump rings after all.)

I am pleased to inform you that LeBeau is already stuck on top of Kinch and Carter's stuck on top of Colonel Hogan 😂 I guess there's a bit too much space in there, but my only other option (one side layer instead of two) wouldn't have left enough space for them to move at all. Hopefully I can shake them free of one another.

I sprayed it with a whole bunch (I didn't count) of layers of sealant, then banished it to the garage for a week because the sealant's got acetone in it which made whatever room the shaker was in smell like acetone 😷. I'm not really sure how much it helped, but I am noticing that, while the characters do still wind up on top of each other, it seems to be happening less frequently and it's somewhat easier to shake them free.

The other thing is that the characters now tend to stick a bit to the background, but a good shake/tap is enough to get them free.

It's done for real this time! I promise! (Now with added keychain!)

I picked up some clear varnish/acrylic paint at Joann's the other day and (after testing it on the original version of the background piece that I messed up in the oven), poured a layer onto the background, let it dry over night, and then sprayed on one final layer of my aerosol sealer because the varnish dries kind of...tacky, I guess, and the pieces don't slide over it the way I'd like them to.

I probably put a bit too much varnish in the corners, but that's ok because the pieces still fit and they do still move around, though you kind of have to deliberately shake it for them to do so (i.e. they don't really move around much on their own).
