Dirty Wine Girl

  A Rioja wine made in a very modern, state of the art facility. The result is a fresh, easy wine not bogged down by too much oak. It is Tempranillo, the grape famous in this region. I was very impressed with this well made wine. 

I love this label! You know exactly what it is. So clean and simple. The wine inside is tip top. Flavour profile is strawberry and some pepper. It is french so remember this is a food wine preferably! Under $20.00 is a great price point for this gem. 

This New Zealand Pinot Noir ranked one of my favourites in a blind wine tasting. It has lots of cherry and raspberry with a big mouth feel. Yummy! 

Now try a French Pinot Noir! You will find this one a tart example against the New Zealand Pinots. Try this with fish or chicken. It tastes better with food - as it should!

Another Value offering from New Zealand. Mudhouse is under $20.00. It is a light, but most importantly varietally correct, meaning it tastes the way Pinot Noir should. A great wine on its own! 

From New Zealand the Kim Crawford Pinot Noir is a fairly light version. There will be no great burst of flavour, so it is nice and easy. The grippy tannins are not very evident, but the nice raspberry and cherry fruit is right there. 

OK I am stepping away from the value wine here. Sterling Vineyards have been making top wine for a long time. The Napa Valley tends to be a bit pricier, but this is because the wine complete with the worlds best. You will find this wine is richer in complexity. More grippy bite of tannin and less jam jar fruit. There is longer oak aging which can hike the price as well. Here is a fancier wine for your choosing. $29.00

Great name for a wine. Here is a South African Merlot. I am highly recommending this country. The wine regions are old and well cared for. The wines are well made and here is a good example of berry and cloves with a touch of tannin to hold it all together. Under $15.00

The judges gave this wine the top mark. We had tasting notes stating raspberry and cherry fruits with spice and enough tannin to create a very enjoyable wine! Under $15.00

Yes this wine was blinded in our Culinaire Magazine Wine Awards and it came out as a winner. This wine is everywhere and is a solid choice in the sea of wines. This is the Merlot that did so well. It is soft, round and full of black cherry. It is easy to drink and for wine drinkers staring out here is a good choice. Under $15.00!

Here is Australian Shiraz we blind tested. It has some earthy qualities and the black berry fruit. The hint of white pepper was welcome as a balancing flavour. This wine is approximately $20.00

Here is a great value wine under $15.00. The shiraz grape when grown in South Africa's hot climate ripens into a big jam jar of a berry. The wines can be big, full bodied, black berry fruit. The South African shiraz seem to have a smoky oak quality which is a style they seem to have adopted. It make the wine taste rich and complex.

Wine for under $15.00. Now here is a collaboration worth supporting. EVERYONE should be able to afford good wine like Entwine.
