BLOOD SUCK.

A COUGH. she’s shoving his boot off her chest to prop herself up on one arm into a sitting position. ❝ you’re annoying already. ❞ batgirl lets out a grunt, brushing the dirt off her bright yellow bat. but he wasn’t wrong : any fight she tries to get into with him, she may lose. she’s never seen someone move that fast. who does she know that moves like that? 

the blonde is clearing her throat and she shakes her head with a chuckle. ❝ decowl? i don’t think you get the whole point of this get up. ❞ and finally, she looks up. right into that smug face. and she knows. but he can’t know that she knows. eyes widen marginally before she has a chance to control her expression and she’s silently cursing herself for getting mixed up in this to begin with. ❝ you can try to rip it off —❞ another grunt as she comes to a standing position, much closer to him than she was before. the moonlight really highlights the green of his eyes and for the first time she’s allowed herself to be distracted.  ❝ but you’ll get electrocuted if you so much as touch the wrong part of my suit. ❞ 

and she wants to call him out now. say his name. catch him off guard but instead she just watches him. his next move. ❝ so now tell me, ❞ she approaches, moonlight lighting up her face completely. ❝ do you still want to have this fight? ❞

         there’s  a  wave  of  pride  that  washes  over  him.  being  called  annoying  is  nothing  new,  yet  it  never  fails  to  make  him  feel  accomplished.  he  says  nothing,  though,  instead  letting  her  talk.  eyes  fixated  on  her,  watching  her  body  language  more  than  listening  to  her  words  themselves.  he  notices  her  eyes,  it’s  for  a  brief  second,  barely  noticeable  if  he  weren’t  looking  out  for  the  signs  already.

          it’s  when  the  moonlight  hits  her  that  things  feel  real.  he’s  caught  himself  staring  at  those  lips  countless  times  before.  she  quickly  found  herself  a  soft  spot  in  him,  what  he  expected  to  be  a  fun  acquaintance  had  turned  into  a  little  bit  of  a  crush.  while  he  had  his  suspicions  already,  that  feeling  of  familiarity,  it  felt  confirmed  now.  there’s  no  way  it’s  not  her,  right?  it  would  have  to  be  one  hell  of  a  coincidence.  so  for  a  moment  her  question  goes  unanswered  as  he  runs  through  his  thoughts.
