Well I’m a punkrocker (yes I am)

Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.

Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.

All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.

After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.

It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.

And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.

The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.

ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.

Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.

Hello as your resident Swiftie I thought I’d take some time to annoy the #antiswifties on her and dispute some misinformation going around about the wedding that just happened between Taylor and Travis.

1. She did not invite ICE to her wedding.

The claim is that she invited Steve Demetriou Sr. to her wedding, Amentum executive. Amentum is responsible for overseeing operations at an ICE detention facility. However people are getting Sr. Confused with his son Jr. (they have the same name). Steven J. Demetriou jr. And Reggie (there adoptive son) are Travis’ childhood friends and did attend the wedding. However there is no verifiable evidence that Demetriou senior attended the wedding. “But he’s listed as a guest.” Yes many guest lists online have been listing father and son interchangeably, but none have listed both. We know Demetriou jr. Did attend because he spoke to reporters Sr. Most likely was not there. “What about the picture of his dad going around?” Thats a grid lock photo of the family from an entirely different event.”

Also a few more things you should know about the father

- he doesn’t oversee “ice operations” he retired before his company Jacobs merged with Amentum (the company that currently oversees ICE operations).

2. Taylor and Travis used so many public resources including tax payer dollars on the day of her wedding.

- that’s not true, organizers of private events are required to reimburse the city for police services. Large events, film shoots, and more require street closure in nyc locals know it’s part of living here and know she didn’t have three blocks closed it was small area near MSG mainly used by pedestrians during a weekend where everyone leaves for the holiday.

3. She contributed to the cities power outages.

MSG has its own power generators, back up power generators, etc…meaning she’s not contributing whatsoever to the electrical power grid. Not to mention the power outages were nation wide.

4. The venue was tacky.

Okay that’s more of an opinion. The thing is a blank space like msg can be turned into whatever you want, but honestly I think weddings by nature are just tacky might as well do what you want.

5. She wanted attention she kept saying she wanted a secret, private wedding and had it somewhere like Madison square garden.

so there’s a difference between private and secret. It definitely was private cause days later we’ve hardly seen/know anything. However her being one one the most famous popstars were going to find out about it no matter what. “Tom holland and Zendaya kept it secret”, stop trying to pretend they’re the same level of celebrity.

6. “She walked down the aisle to her own song, she sang during her vows, she made it all about herself, she just wants attention how tacky.”

Again, weddings by nature are tacky. Also, weddings are supposed to be about the bride and groom. She’s the only bride I know of that people expect to not make her wedding day about her.

So a question for my followers: Give your best guess as to why this could have worked without looking it up.

So how did a blood transfusion treat syphilis? Well, in the 1700s, blood transfusions were not done with human blood- they were done with animal blood, usually lamb or calf blood.
