Regardless of whether you believe being fat is inherently unhealthy and that there is no possible way to have a BMI 25+ and be perfectly fine, there is no justification for the vast majority of the bullshit fat people have to deal with.
Fat people should be able to get clothes that fit us. Fat people should not be denied jobs for being fat. Fat people shouldn't get paid less than our thin peers. Fat people should be able to go to the doctor and get treated without centering weight loss. Fat people should not be shamed for being fat. Fat people should have media representation beyond greedy, gluttonous, and/or otherwise negative characters. Fat people should have the world around us built with us in mind. To name a few.
And like, even if a fat person is unhealthy? So fucking what? Why does that mean we get paid less? Why does that mean we should be ridiculed? Why does that justify treating us as lesser? Even the most unhealthy person alive does not deserve these things, whether or not they "chose to be unhealthy." Disability liberation and fat liberation oftentimes go hand in hand for this reason.
Fat people deserve better, regardless of our health status.
