cracks knuckles - hokay, this is going to be a mess and i will edit things as they change/come up. 

 fernando is thirty-three, a leo, and loves scottish whiskey. he is known to be a kind man, educated, dutiful to his family and his country. he is roman catholic, and attends mass every sunday. he is one of three children to the king and queen of spain. first came nandito, then came isa, and lastly lis. he is the natural heir to the throne. he, like any good son, dreads the day he will be king. 

 the prince is close with his sisters, much more so with isabela. he was seven when she was born, and can remember taking photos for the press, holding his little sister on his lap with a wide toothy grin and mamá on standby just in case he held her wrong. he would do anything and everything for his siblings. 

 education was always extremely important to fernando’s father, the king. he insisted that nando be tutored full-time (as in eight hours a day) by a governess from the ages of four to eight, rather than going to private school as was customary at the time for most royal children. at eight fernando enrolled in the most prestigious boarding school in spain, and while he excelled, he absolutely loathed it. he resented his father for making him spend so much time away from his mother and his sisters, only seeing them once a week and for the duration of a small summer holiday. and that resentment never really went away. this was just the first in a long line of choices that were made FOR nando by his father. 

after primary school he went to receive secondary education at an exclusive law-centered programme in amsterdam, again at his father’s command. 

on his eighteenth birthday, fernando swore allegiance to the constitution and to the king in the spanish parliament as required by the constitution, declaring his intent to take the crown when his father’s time came. 

once his studies in amsterdam were finished and his allegiance was sworn, his father chose to let loose of the reigns a bit. he was given two options: either accept assignment as an officer in the spanish air force, or pursue higher education abroad. he chose to study abroad, and picked france. 

he studied at the sorbonne university in paris. and obtained a master's degree in european affairs with a concentration in military history, specifically wars and security in societies from antiquity to the present day. while in paris, he fell in love with a beautiful art history major named dorothée. they fell in love swiftly, and spent three lovely years together, and famously nando proposed in public to his father’s dismay (which was very public in the spanish tabloides). one year into their engagement, nando found her in bed with his best friend from university while on a holiday in ibiza (which was also very public in the press).
