Ada watched curiously as Lorana traced a strange shape on the wall, then blinked as it and her arm began to glow, leaving a ball of light in the shapeâs place. âHuh. Neat.â Ada said, inspecting the glowing ball stuck to the brick. She glanced back at Lorana. âSo⌠I guess the phrase âyouâre not from around hereâ really applies in this case.â
"I'm beginning to think so." She agreed with a tense nod, briefly chewing her lower lip. "I was conducting an experiment... trying to enable instant transportation from city to city by layering differing magics onto a stone platform. Last I remembered, I was about to test it... something must have gone wrong." She waved her hand, the mark on the back still holding a faint glow. Her right hand always had a little shine to it, and the fact that it still did gave her some comfort. "Things... feel different here. You don't have magic here, do you?"
