Thinking of eloquence as something all-encapsulating in expression. Much like a word can be used with clarity and precision, so can a note, a line and an idea. I believe that art in most forms is as expressive as language is, I believe it is it's own language. as a certain placement of lines is me solidifying internal feelings that are felt by those who look upon it. So do sounds in a song amplify and distort the meaning of lyrics or conjure their entire own worlds in instrumental music. I see a direct connection between bland and uninteresting art and (a form of) intelligence, willing or willingness to sympathize with others as a consequence of that. We have cultivated systems that prioritize lowest-common-denominator art, which leads us to prioritize "being heard" over "speaking". Making us less investigative to both ourselves and each other. To misunderstand a complicated work, but to want to understand it is enriching. This year, culturally, has been disappointing to me. Can't think of a movie I loved, every videogame has a hate campaign raised against it because they arent tailor-made to their demographic (usually, when reading their demands they also read as "make x old game again and do not show me anything new"). And a ton of indie games are direct amalgamations of old games. Often either straight remaking or simply puzzling certain parts of old games and genres together. People seem to be prouder, less curious and dumb. Throw off the shackles of nostalgia and look inward as to what speaks to you about the things you love. As far as there being "no new", that is something more closely related to wanting to be heard than it is to "everything having been done". Everyone has internal worlds and ideas. If you are willing to rid yourself of external validation you can find what it is you have to say, and you should. You might not ever be able to do so entirely clearly but the journey there is rewarding in and of itself.
