Her tail twitched at the sound of the door sliding open, and Caulil had jumped to her feet and attempted to shift her body into a defensive stance, although that was easier said than done with a bum ankle. Her upper lip curled, smelling them come closer. Cuminâs words held a certain venomous tone, and she sensed a presence right in front of her. Before she could think to pull back, Caulil was struck, and for a moment both of her arms fell numb. She crumbled to her knees, and the Saiyaness growled before letting out a sharp yelp of pain. Her ankle! Caulilâs hand twitched and she swung, trying to slap off who over had attacked her. Just as she did, however, she felt a shock, and Caulil fell forward.
Her whole body now felt numb, and it was reminiscent of the times the Orrackian would use their electric batons to punish her and the other Saiyans. She twitched uncontrollably on the ground, and her eyes watered involuntarily. Caulil could only make small noises as she was lifted onto the gurney, and her muscles twitched as she was poked and cut with different instruments to gather samples. After they had what they wanted, she was pushed off the gurney, and Caulil landed with a hard thud on the ground. She groaned, and the muscles in her leg twitched at Cuminâs sickening soft touch. He was disgusting⌠She would so much rather be on Orrack than this place.
Hours passed, and Caulil hadnât moved from where she laid on the floor. Even with Creeâs attempts to move it her it didnât help, Caulil refused to put in any effort. What was the point? She was far too weak, her energy was drainedâŚ. But damn it all, she was so frustrated with herself! How could she be so weak?!? She was supposed to be a champion! An undefeated warrior! And yet these Earthlings⌠They were more blood thirsty than the beasts she has killed in the Arena. If she couldnât get back to full strength, how was she to overcome them?

How long has it been now? A week?
Caulil sat on the small bed of her cell, rubbing her ankle. It had been almost a week since it was shattered, but amazingly it was already nearly healed. A Saiyanâs ability to heal in such short a time was amazing, wasnât it? Well, actually, it wasnât completely her own doing. While a Saiyan didnât take long to heal, she owed most of her healing ability to the Orrackians. When she was first captured and brought to that planet, they had decided to boost their healing capabilities so that they could get back to battling in the arena without delay. All it took was one simple injection to modify their immune systemâŚ. and that 70% success rate.Â
No, it wasnât perfect. There was a 30% chance of failure, ultimately resulting in the death of the Saiyan. However, that didnât matter to the Orrackians. They saw it as a way to weed out the useless ones. Caulil had been an extremely lucky 2 year old, but it had scared her to watch others around her age die right in front of her.
âI can put some pressure on it, thatâs good,â She thought, then moved her hand in front of her face. Although the rest of her body was healing, her eyes had yet to be useful again. âI wonder if theyâll ever healâŚâ she wondered with a sigh. She lowered her hand just before hearing a bell, and Caulil raised her head in response. âCree?â she said aloud. âThat you?â
âSheâs healing even faster than we calculated, Doctor Star,â A woman stated as she looked over the Saiyanessâs recent charts. âThe recent x-rays are showing that her bones have healed near perfectly, and itâs only been a week. From what I recall from our other Saiyan tests subjects, similar injuries took almost three times as long, correct?â The female scientist tapped her cheek thoughtfully. âCould it be because sheâs a female?â She happened to look down, spotting a red smudge on her badge. The woman scrunched up her nose and grabbed a tissue. Honestly she hated being dirty, but no matter how hard she tried it always seemed like at least one of those filthy children were going to get something on her. She wiped away the blood from her name, âDr. Angela Borealâ.Â
⣠ Creâori had stopped just outside the cell to put on her anklet that made chimes.  It would allow the blind Saiyaness to know it was her and where she was.  Slipping into the cell she dragged a haunch of meat she was able to trade for.  âYes, Mistress I brought you food.â  Dragging the meat over to the Saiyaness, she left it in arms reach knowing Caulil could smell it.  Cree had seen her Mistress checking herself out.  It was easy to understand her frustrations.  It was hard feeling useless from pain.  She moved over to her Ladieâs ankle.  It was healing nicely.  She felt around the discoloration.  She didn't feel any bone fragments of cracks.  It had been shattered only been a few days!  Her Mistress was amazing.  The only thing that refused to heal was her eyes.  To not be able to see especially in this place must be a nightmare.  Cree scampered up Caulil leg.  Mistress will be running.. ack!â Â
A weight hit her, sending Cree crashing to the floor.  Landing with Legic on her chest knocked the wind out of her.  She couldnât move.  She was pinned.  Suddenly he lifted her up in one swift motion and chucked her across the room.  Pain exploded as she slammed into the bars with a sickening crunch.  She made a squelchy noise as she slid to the ground.  The smell of blood was strong!  Who was bleeding?  Why was everything so dark?  Why couldnât she feel anything?
Legic laughed as he dodged the Saiyaness swipe at him.  He was way too fast for her to catch.  âStupid, slow mammal.  Stay out of this.  Creâori never should have chosen you!  You are not worthy of that gift!  When Dr Star ends you, Creâori will serve another.  One that is worthy of such an honor!  Spitting in Caulilâs face to torment her.
Dr. Star watched the drama unfold on his screen.  He liked to watch subjects come unglued when you took away things that were dear to them.  Friends, loved ones Hope.  Looks like this would be the last good meal she got.  Smirking Star amused himself with a thought.  âI wonder if the Subject will eat the lizard?  Saiyans do see everyone as food.â  Chortling over the lack of humanity the alienâs had he looked at the subjectâs chart again.  âI want a comparison run on Patient S-067â˛s blood again.  Let's compare it to the subject that was transferred here.  Patient S-043.  Dr. Boreal I want you working with my on synthesizing the drug that was used on her.  Letâs see if we can determine what it did and what it was supposed to do.  Letâs also prep the new serum.  I want to test it as soon as possible.â âŁ
