Chapter 1: Mystery Student
This would take place during Vee’s prologue
I don’t believe there to be many chapters which is why I’m also posting this on tumblr. Also it’s 3am
‘Okay Ester, it shouldn’t be this hard. Just go over and talk to them!’
Ester repeated in his head.
He stood across the street from their school, umbrella in hand. He paid attention to another student remaining on the other side of the road.
Ester didn't know the student too well. Maybe he spotted them walking the halls or sat at the same lunch table as them a couple times. He knew for sure that both of them were a part of the school’s band, Ester on drums and that student on the trumpet.
The two interacted once and that one interaction would be the reason Ester wanted to talk to them so bad.
The shorter student looked at their phone for a few seconds before putting it back down again.
‘Are their parents coming or…’
Either way, Ester decided he should act now. If the two of them talked for a bit maybe they’d find out that they had some things in common. Ester wondered if the student played any video games and if they had any favorites.
He perked up as they started to cross the road. Ester followed suit but the weird sound of galloping caught his attention.
Ester’s mind and body no longer were in sync.
He wanted to move faster.
Push the student out of the way or grab them, he had to do something.
He should’ve called out their name. But his mind was drawing a complete blank.
Ester long dropped his umbrella in an attempt to reach them.
Somehow he was pushed away by some heavy force.
He ended up blacking out for a solid minute and woke up with his head sore.
Luckily, he landed on the grass. The wet and muddy grass.
Once he officially processed where he was, he stood up and looked around.
‘Wasn’t there a carriage or something? More importantly…’
Ester stood where the student used to be and noticed hoof prints and tire marks on the road.
He took his phone to get a picture but the marks started to fade.
They pressed record and followed the tracks, “Chaaaat, what the hell is happening!?”
The tracks came to an abrupt stop and fully disappeared.
Ester looked ahead for any signs of the carriage and saw nothing but an empty and wet street.
Nothing about this made sense.
Ester slapped himself a couple of times trying to wake himself.
“OW! Okay that was pretty hard.”
He rubbed his cheek and looked down, noticing a backpack left on the ground next to a phone.
‘These should be from that brown haired kid huh?’
They picked up the phone first.
The screen was cracked to all hell and pretty dirty too. Ester wasn’t here to judge though.
It didn’t have a case either, but on the back multiple Mickey Mouse stickers could be seen.
‘Were they like a Mickey fan?’
Ester himself was more partial to Goofy. Kingdom Hearts helped a lot on that front.
‘Would they like Kingdom Hearts?’
Wait, no that’s not the important part here.
A whole person just went missing!
He picked up the bag and under it was an ID card. It had to be the student’s!
“At least I can find out their name n-huh?”
As he examined the card, the student’s first name was scratched out. But the last name was still visible.
He believes he’s heard the band teacher say that name a couple of times before.
The name was silly to Ester, in the sense it didn’t sound real.
Sounded like something from Epic Mickey.
‘They might like Epic Mickey, too.’
The more he found out about the Inkwell person, the more he wanted to find things both of them could have in common.
This boosted the motivation Ester had in needing to find them.
He couldn’t stay out for too long, it was getting dark.
Not sure of what else to do, Ester picked up the student’s things and made his way home.
