I want to share something that happened yesterday that really shook me.

Between 4:45-5 pm, on my way home from work

I was driving up the hill in [our neighborhood], had just gone over the second speed bump and was nearing the curve by the power lines, when I noticed Mac coming down the hill on his scooter. He was on the correct side of the street, then suddenly, out of nowhere & without looking he made a U-turn right in front of my car. I hit my brakes and sat there in disbelief as he rode off, unaware of how dangerous that was. Thankfully I was paying attention and not driving fast. 

I know it wasn’t intentional, but that U-turn right in front of my car was really scary. If I hadn’t been paying attention, something could have happened.  

Please speak with him about scooter safety, always paying attention & staying aware of his surroundings, and understanding who has the right of way.

Summer swim team starts in a couple of weeks, which means the volunteer portal is about to open, which means we’re going to be SOL by 9:02 if we’re not ready.

Our first year on the swim team, we didn’t know the drill, so we were SOL. The only spots left were for the swim meet announcer (2 points for half a meet or 4 for a full meet), and it required training. I said screw it and took it and I love it!

Here we are, four years later, and this just landed in my inbox from the volunteer coordinator.

Over the years, the downstairs has been freezing while the upstairs is noticeably warmer. I mean, despite having central AC, we’re still putting portable AC units in the girls’ rooms every summer.

Long story short, I had plantar fasciitis. I texted my runner friends for at-home remedies, then reached out to my MIL, who’d recently dealt with it, and she recommended KURU footwear.

My KURUs HAVE BEEN A GAME CHANGER. Within a week of wearing them, my pain improved significantly.

A couple of recent fails are the EltaMD UV Skin Recovery Red Color Correcting SPF 50 and the Merit Great Skin Instant Glow Serum.

The EltaMD UV Skin Recovery Red Color Correcting SPF 50 was a total fail. It did nothing, and the thin formula made my rosacea look worse. I’m not cheating on Dr. Jart+’s Color Corrector - lesson learned.

The Merit Great Skin Instant Glow Serum - I hated it. I wanted to love it because the Balm Blush and the Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick are my everything, but this was a miss. It’s nowhere near hydrating enough, and the consistency is watery. I won’t be cheating on Sunday Riley again.
