We just finished up a meeting with Bethesda where we got to design a character for The Elder Scrolls 6. Honestly, a lot of us went into the meeting pretty nervous and even reserved, but now we're all extremely excited for what's in store.

This particular scene is a sketch of how I imagine Miraak learned he is Dragonborn, Hermaeus told him that if he is to be free, he is to know, and what he must know to acquire his own liberation comes at a price. The life of the dragon he personally served and worshipped for his entire life. If he is truly loyal, he must be ready to give up everything he ever knew and cherished. His reality must be shattered for his freedom under Hermora's gaze. A sacrifice in which demanded the cost of his own life [being his status as a dragon priest, his political power, his family, friends, allies, everything he ever knew, and later Hermaeus used the wordings of this binding against him to ensnare Miraak in his realm when he got a bit too unstable to exist outside of Apocrypha.], and the life of his previous god.
