I remember my mother taking me to the Cotton Bowl Classic at the state fair every year since before I can even remember. It is a family tradition that we call "Battle of the Bands". Every year, the opening weekend of the State Fair, Prairie View and Grambling play against each other but the big event is at halftime when the bands go head to head! As a young girl I was so drawn to the pretty cheerleaders and had no idea that when I came of age to begin my college career that I would end up being one of those cheerleaders down on the field from the same exact university 💜💛⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It is very surreal to think that this is in my fact my life, purpose, and destiny. Had it not been for that representation, I would have never believed that I could continue on with and make a career out of my passion for cheerleading 🎀 I do this for the girls that are just like me who love cheerleading #CheerIsLife ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I knew that I wanted to help other girls develop their skills and train up their technique when I began to surpass all of my peers at an early stage. On every team that I've been on, my teammates looked to me in confidence as a leader and as someone they can learn from. They sought me out for advice, a partner to practice with, and a guide to help them stay accountable to their goals. Once, I accepted this role I realized that this is only just the beginning 👑⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That is why I started Miss Journei - Academy Cheer Elite. Now that I am back in my hometown and studying at Southern Methodist University, I am blessed with the opportunity to give back to my community and enrich the lives of all the girls who are exactly where I was many years ago with a passion and love for cheerleading. Allow me introduce myself! ❤️ My name is Miss Journei and I have been cheerleading for over 18 years! I have cheered locally, competitively, collegiately, and now I am training to cheer on the professional level. Cheerleading has allowed me to travel all across the United States and given me countless opportunities, experience, and sisterly bonds with my teammates that will last a lifetime 👑⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am from Allen, TX and graduated C/0 2014 then moving on to cheer collegiately at Prairie View A&M University after earning a full merit scholarship due to my high ACT/SAT scores. During middle school to high school, I cheered competitively for Eagles Wings Athletics finishing off my three year reign with 5 W.O.W Awards, medals/honors, and nominations for Rookie of The Year, and M.V.P. I can show you how cheerleading is a sport! 🏆⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Prior to this, I believe I lived out every girl's dream of cheerleading. I started at a YMCA Cheer Camp at age 4 and each year that I progressed and got better, I reached a higher level with each new peewee and little league team that my city had to offer. I made so many friends and had tons of fun, needless to say Football Season is my favorite season ever! There's something about those Friday night lights and stadium nachos with extra jalapeños that get me every time. 😋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now that I am back in my hometown and studying at Southern Methodist University, I now have the opportunity to give back to my community and enrich the lives of all the girls who are exactly where I was many years ago with a passion and love for cheerleading.
