Interviewer: In the play, you embody six very different neighbors from Inishfree. What is that like, and where do you draw all of your nuances from?

Your blood, what matter is it made of?

Bodily autonomy (like abortion, anti draft, etc) -> “The government shouldn’t be able to force anything on my body I don’t want.”

Anti surveillance -> “I don’t trust big government/big tech (big brother if you’re feeling frisky) with the ability to spy on me and my family.”

Immigration -> “Next to all of us immigrated at some point, I don’t see why the elites get to decide who’s allowed to be where. What’s to stop them coming for me?”

Climate Change -> “Big oil shouldn’t get to determine whether or not I get to go places. I don’t want to be dependent on some big business to survive.”

State Violence -> “I don’t want the goddamn secret police breathing down my neck! I trust my community a whole hell of a lot more to help me than I do the state!”

Your skeleton isn’t naturally white - they gotta chemically treat it to look like that. That there “pale one” is probably a scientific model that’s been scrubbed clean of any remaining flesh/origional personality, “bleached”/whitened to be socially more visually appealing, and then artificially pinned - stapled - glued - and rubber mold replacement parts cobbled together.

The “pale one” is a socially acceptable construct intended to be viewed and displayed, but has likely lost the name of the ‘soul’ that once resided inside of it.

So maybe it’s more of a “remember your roots/truth” and “know it still loves you”, you don’t have to alter yourself to “public presentation” to be loved and the foundation of a whole person.

Or that you don’t have to be “socially presentable” to be loved.

Or something like that…

Could just be that bleached bodies prefer some organic Vitamin *D* injections after all their Botox is done.
