          A heavy frown settled onto his face, followed by an awkward shuffle of his feet. He’d only been informing Zach of some of the new features he’d discovered on the helmet. Clearly the other wasn’t interested. Then again, that wasn’t much of a surprise. It shouldn’t have hurt as much as it did. He should have been used to it. Before putting on the helmet, nothing they said really mattered. Now, however, it seemed so much more hurtful. 

“Do I not look like a nice person?” Now she was a bit offended. “I would be pretty jealous of them if I were in your situation. Woodrow, that’s an interesting name. I’m sorry your parents named you that, can’t say my full name is any better though. I’d tell you mine but, no one ever calls me that anymore it be pointless to do that. Woody is nice, I guess.”

“Stealth is actually incredibly useful. But - only if its used as a unit. And in this state, it can’t be. The long range frequencies and translation units are tools needed in many situations. But - again - it’ll take a moment for it to translate the alien language since it most likely wasn’t programmed with it. I also think you should start practicing with the slow motion and x-ray feature more. And, don’t use the x-ray incorrectly. We don’t need that right now, got it, Woody?”

‘ You figured out any more of those enhancements, yet? Like– seeing naked chicks, but without the guys joining in?

         Honestly he’d never seen this side of Zach before. Then again, they weren’t exactly the best of friends. Before this whole thing started, they hardly spoke. And any exchange they did have was usually an insult thrown at Woody or something along those lines. Though, he’d always seen the man as rather perky. Moody, yes, but otherwise happy with his life. However, since this mess started, he’d noticed a steady decline in Zach’s moods. Even without the helmet’s ability to pick up on hormone changes in the body, he could see that. At the moment though, all he could see was the blood alcohol content level.

          Hagan’s blue orbs widened slightly at the other’s             question. In truth, he hadn’t even though about it.             The man pressed his lips into a thin line as he             mulled over a decent response. It was certainly             a DELICATE topic ––– one that he knew Woody             must have considered before.

                ❝ Honestly, kid ––– I have no idea. That’s something                    we’ll just have to figure out when the time comes.                   But y’know what? It doesn’t matter. You’re still gonna                   be the same old Woody ––– OUR Woody. ❞

          He flashed Woody a small grin, trying his best to           REASSURE him. Hagan knew that he’d want to keep           all of the intelligence that he’s gained. After all, who           wouldn’t want to have such incredible intellect? But           the last thing he wanted was to see Woody so down           on himself about it.

               ❝ Don’t let some stupid HELMET define who you                   are, alright? Besides, I kinda miss your MULLET. ❞

           If he had to chose someone to LEAD this group, it would be            Hagan. Sure, the man wasn’t  i d e a l, nor EXPERIENCED            with a leader position, but he was the only thing that really            held the team together. He was far better for the position than            Zachary, that was for sure. Even if the  name had come from            him, Hagan was the GLUE holding them together. He trusted            the man with his life. He hadn’t failed them so far.

           Woody let a  s o f t  smile play on his lips as he nodded, letting            his gaze drop for a moment. He did want the helmet off. But he            didn’t want to lose what he’d gained.HOWEVER, at the same            time, he knew it was hurting him too. 

        Guy couldn’t walk down a corridor without being bodily         assaulted nowadays, it was just sad. But he’d promised         he wouldn’t start shit on the base, which was mildly         irritating to keep up when the soldiers acted like he and         the rest of lazer team were morons not worth the government         funding. Which stung just a little. Pursed lips and narrowed         eyes for a brief moment, before he’d taken a step back with         a sigh. IT would be a bit of a dick move to take his anger out         on Woody, dude apologised an everything. And if he was         being honest, he had the WORST new attachment to deal         with too.

                  “ Whatever man, just y’know be more careful.                      Some of these tin soldiers might not be so                      forgivin’ yeah? What are you doing all the                      way out here anyway, thought your tests were                      over for the day? ”

         Woody could understand the stress Zachary was under. After all,           the world was depending on them. They were earth’s protectors          now. And while he may not be the leader, a lot of the responsibility          was put on Zach. As well as Hagan. Their tests were the most          rigorous. They did the most training. Woody had seen how the          other soldiers treated him. And he knew Zachary’s temper. It was          no surprise he was on edge. He honestly didn’t blame him.
