"rapist and victim" Like thats such a disservice to everyone who's ever been "stuck" in abusive relationships. Boiling them down to one type of violence ignores the complexities of these kinds of relationships and how they happen.
the dopamine rushes the "good times" give you actually being addictive? Entangling yourself in them in every way by giving them EVERYTHING you own to appease them because you love them so unconditionally it becomes nearly impossible to leave.
You cant afford to leave you gave them all your money and you live with them. You cant afford to leave they are your boss or your transportation to work.
You have no one else. Theyve isolated you and youre alone with them or with people who are on their side when it comes to dealing with you.
They have control of the few things that make you the happiest.
Youre fucking trapped inna situation that's feelings like half of your making and youre ashamed to reach out because everyone you can reach out to is going to guilt you into feeling even worse.
You fear for your safety.
And you keep going back because FUCK that dopamine hit tells you youre in love and this is what love feels like and youre affectively numb to everyone else.
Like Im so glad a lot of these people havent experienced these kinds of abusive relationships to be able to relate to stories like these.
BUT treating these things in black and white terms is the part thats harmful as fuck. Not the people creating stories around relatable human experiences. Not the people making in-jokes about relatable human experiences.
