“Hmph…” Leozack leans back again and regards the other Destron coolly. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots something hanging off the edge of the nearby shelf. It’s the pair of bunny ears he received from Esmeral years ago for who-knows what reason.

The sudden inclusion of bunny ears confuses Hellbat greatly, but he figures Leozack probably knows what he's doing. Although admitting it even internally makes Hellbat cringe. It's hard to defend your waifu's honour when even you know you're in denial.

"Right, of course." Hellbat peeks through his fingers. "S-sorry."

Hellbat automatically assumes he’s about to get a particularly savage beating.

Hellbat wiggles, though it doesn't accomplish much. "I, uuh..." He can feel his face heating up and covers it up with his hands.

Leozack settles down again, slowly shifting onto his back and wrapping his arms around Hellbat, cuddlehugging him right back as he drifts off to sleep.

Those few peaceful moments lulled Hellbat into a false sense of security, so when he's suddenly shoved away he doesn't even have time to brace himself before he lands on the floor in a heap.

“Best friend?” Jetstorm is flattered and stammers nervously for a few moments. He settles for just looking quite happy. 

"Shhh," Hellbat coos. Where his hand rests he rubs his thumb lightly up and down. It occurs to him that Leozack is probably going to murder him when he wakes up fully. Especially if he catches Hellbat watching him like this.

The head pats do feel good. Jetstorm leans into his touch and dims his optics a little. 

"R-really?" No one's ever called Hellbat a friend before. He's hardly ever been called a comrade. "You're my friend too, Jetstorm! Best friend even! You never hit me or anything!"

Jetstorm’s headfins tilt downward just a bit as he listens, and he can’t help but feel his spark pang at the tone of Hellbat’s voice. He just sounds so sad! 

"You know just how it is, don't you buddy?" Hellbat gently moves his arm to pat Jetstorm on the head with a finger. "Deadcobra's pretty dumb too. He's so dumb he doesn't even know he's dead."

That isn’t a usual greeting. Jetstorm peeks out the window of the house and then flies out and goes up to hover by Hellbat’s helm, looking at him.

Seeing as everyone else around the Thunder Arrow is usually the cause of his problems, he's not really used to having anyone to talk to. Or at least, no one to whine to that wouldn't smack him for it. He decides to seize the opportunity.

He’d been so compliant that Hellbat almost jumps in surprise when Leozack starts bossing him around again. Not that he particularly minds, he’d be happy to go just about anywhere together right now.

Leozack remains quiet while he’s carried. When they arrive in his room, he hops out of Hellbat’s arms and curls up on his bed, ignoring the other mech.

A bit dejected that his arms are now empty, Hellbat takes the liberty to wander around the room. Absorbing it all and probably memorizing it.

It occurs to Hellbat that he probably shouldn’t be groping all over his superior in the middle of the Thunder Arrow, but he worries that if he tried to drag Leozack off then he might actually start struggling.

Random Hallway #4 of the Thunder Arrow is hardly an ideal romantic location. Not only does it have the usual unpleasantries associated with random hallways, but there’s a creepy Deathsaurus statue only a few feet away. Leozack’s wings shiver slightly and he nudges Hellbat’s hand with his helm.
