“Ah, okay,” she chuckled dryly at his rebuff of her question.  “Fine, John, be a mysterious guy, that’s fine.”  She drained her glass and asked the bartender for another.  “Do you do hauntings?” she asked once her attention turned back to him.  “Like the Ghost Adventure guys?” 

“The who?” John asked clearly oblivious of who these Ghost Adventure people were. “Nevermind that, to answer the question do I get haunted? I guess that depends how you look at it.”

“Latin spells?  Whoa.”  She stared at him, clearly impressed.  “Do you get attacked by demons often?  Why?  Is Hell out to get you?  Did you offend Satan?”  She paused.  “I suppose it wouldn’t be difficult to offend Satan, if he were real,” she mused, frowning. 

“Well for starters I think you just offended him by saying he doesn’t exist. As for the rest…that’s none of your business.”

“None of that nonsense, okay….that’s encouraging.”  Cheryl frowned, clearly puzzled by the man’s clear nonchalance regarding the activities of demons.  “And how do you go about exorcising demons without Bibles or crosses?” 

“Latin of course. Or to make it so you understand; spells. Gimmics, whatever I have to defend myself.”

John burst out laughing before stopping himself. “Sorry love but I don’t go anywhere even close to that nonsense. I’m an excorcist of demons nothing spiritual.”
