Idk if this makes sense to anyone else, but I feel like Armand's use of his powers and vampire physicality feels so casual and utilitarian rather than showy. He obviously uses his abilities to intimidate, overpower, or establish dominance, but even then he's usually very much to the point. He doesn't need to unleash some huge display of supernatural power to make his point. He just does exactly what is necessary, and that's it. And when he actually does show off a little, it's sort of quiet and eerie, still very much a to-the-point way of intimidating someone rather than a "look at me, I'm so great" kind of display. The only times we really see him unleash his full power are when he genuinely loses control, and even then it doesn't feel like he's showing off, more like using them as an outlet for his anger.
