So, I was wondering, do you have any suggestions for studying anatomy and stuff, like hands, other than using references

for studies, you really can’t do without using references because you’re there to learn/practice something you don’t know well yet yk. but, a tip (refs or not) is to simplify which you might hear a lot too since it’s genuinely how you want to approach drawings at any level.

aaand here’s some stuff i keep in mind drawing hands specifically i hope its legible (this is just how i do it!! not a universal truth by any means!)

oh fun question, it usually depends! if its something heavily based off a reference or two then 4 hrs ish (arvid drawing was ~3hrs, kimi win drawing was 4.5, etc)

more polished pieces take usually 8-14hrs (constellation ollie was 8hr, fairytale bearnelli was 16)
