heck yeah vjcl!

Salvete vos omnes! This is Sherry Lee, your former 2012-2013 VJCL Historian, and this is my last post on this tumblr.

I wanted to say gratias maximas vobis omnibus for all the support that you gave me during my term as historian, both on the tumblr and in real life. I had so much fun getting to know you all and the process of representing Virginia in the scrapbook was such an amazing experience. 

The creation of the VJCL tumblr is also something that made my time as historian so memorable. I can't tell you how sentimentally warm it made me feel whenever I got a tumblr message from a VJCLer telling me how much he or she enjoyed the pictures I took, as well as whenever people came up to me in person and thanked me for making the tumblr. All I really wanted to do with the tumblr was draw us together as a community and represent as many schools as possible, so getting so much positive feedback from all of you was fantastic. 

(Also, for those of you who have been following this tumblr and are NOT from Virginia - I hope you have realized just what a good-looking JCL we Virginians are. :D) 

So you may have noticed the format of the tumblr has changed! I changed its theme for a new year - we'll see how it goes. I have also added two pages, one for schools and one for events. I tagged all the pictures throughout the year, and now you can find your school's pictures on the tumblr by clicking on the link, or if you like, choose to look at all the pictures from one certain event. We currently have over 30 schools represented on the tumblr. Let's keep that number rising!

This is a reminder that we need pictures for this year's VJCL scrapbook. Any and all pictures from VJCL events of the 2012-2013 school year would be welcomed! Please send them to [email protected] with the name of your chapter and the names of the people in the photos included. 

The final date to submit pictures is June 9th, 2013. That's only five days from now. Please make sure that your chapter is represented! 

All students wishing to be considered a pre-filed candidate for VJCL Editor or VJCL Historian must submit an application complete with all necessary signatures by June 1st, 2013, to the VJCL Parliamentarian. Any student wishing to run for the office of Editor or Historian need not be present at the NJCL Convention this summer.  To be considered a candidate, he or she must file an application for the position by June 1st, 2013, and may send his or her speech with any delegate who will present it to the Virginia delegation.   All students wishing to run for either of these positions are strongly encouraged to pre-file. Any student not attending the NJCL Convention must pre-file.
